Slightly nostalgic! Can't say Pepsi was a big part of my life but I totally remember that commercial.

Holy moly, this thread is nearing a year old and this is where we've gotten?
When I was but a young ignorant whippersnapper I remember going through this much in a few weeks!
don't quote me on that I've slept like 20 hours all week my memory is shot
Ah yes, the age old debate of Coke v. Pepsi... Forever steeped in a stalemate. (my view is that Pepsi is better cold than Coke, and Coke is better warm than Pepsi)

back in the old days they went through this much in a day
my opinion is I prefer Coke, Pepsi is alright, and I hate my school for exclusively serving Pepsi products cause I need more variety

Coke for me. I can't stand the taste of pepsi.
My favourite soft drink is ginger beer though.

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
Neither
I never liked the regular coke or pepsi, but I liked many of both brands' other soft drinks...
Then I discovered they make me sick to my stomach
So yeah...

In Germany we have "Fritz Cola". It's not that sweet and has a higher dose caffeine. The is also a variation with coffee taste. Pretty delicious. There also is a lemonade called Chabeso". It's made with lactic acid and citrus oil. Sounds strange but tastes awesome.

We have something called Schweppe's here. I'm pretty sure it's available elsewhere too but I know for sure it's here.Mecklenburgball wrote:In Germany we have "Fritz Cola". If you don't have it around, it's essentially lemonade with a mineral called quinine put in it, which makes it bitter, then lets the lemonade set in a sweeter after taste. It's pretty good stuff!

Pretty sure that Schweppe's is a US brand. I know that in Miriam Hospital, they give you their ginger ale to drink. Everytime my mother had to go to the hospital because of an intestinal ailment or when my grandfather was in and out of the hospital before his kidneys finally shut down, that is what I would see. Occasionally some Canada Dry.
My mother drinks something called Seagram's. Its a ginger ale and she drinks diet raspberry flavor.

For me? Seagram's, personally.
Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
I agree with Sleet, Canada Dry is a terrible ginger ale.
My favourites are Bundaberg and Blenheim. I used to drink Thomas Kemper, but they changed their recipe after they moved to Portland.

Many years ago my dad used to drink red ginger, the one with also orange extract. I never liked its taste.

Bundaberg, Schweppes and Cascades all make good ginger beer/ginger ale. Kirks and Woolworths brands are almost as good.

I know one that is worse, the Walmart brand Ginger Ale is just colored carbonated sugar water with some caramel flavoring.Punchy wrote:I agree with Sleet, Canada Dry is a terrible ginger ale.

I cant find a good brand and my mom usually buys Canada Dry, I think I have had Schweppes, but cant remember right now at 2am.
Also I like coke when its in a bottle and is cold. But any other time it seems that it isn't good. I also like pepsi a little more than coke in general because of that.
Maybe he's born with it, or maybe its Maybelline?Hlaoroo wrote:Bundaberg, Schweppes and Cascades all make good ginger beer/ginger ale. Kirks and Woolworths brands are almost as good.

Re: Chat Thread 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe and Eve
The last time I stopped drinking soda I actually gained about 10 pounds.
Of course that could have just been the fact that I only weighed 135 pounds at the time and in the 8 weeks since I've put on about 10 pounds of muscle because of all of the pushups. (Yes, I'm back)

At least it's beneficial weight. Welcome back Jeff, you gotta remind Diss to change your username to dark blue again.JeffCvt wrote:The last time I stopped drinking soda I actually gained about 10 pounds.

I find myself drinking Coke and Diet Coke a lot lately, only because I'm reminiscing of my times with my internship supervisor. He liked to buy me Coke, but only from this one faulty vending machine at the university I'm doing research at. Other drinks you could only purchase normally, but with Coke, you put in RM1.50, you'd get a can and RM3.00 change xD

I weigh myself every night so I generally keep my weight under control. Which means I can't drink all that much soda. But I definitely drink it! Just in moderation.

I tried to weigh myself but I gave up on it because the scale we have is a bit broken. Said I once weighed 18.9 pounds.

I tend to maintain my weight, I just need to start losing some because of past instances of gaining.
and I drink a bunch of diet soda. I know it's not very healthy but i balance it out with sugar-free kool-aid which is mostly water... I'm not the healthiest guy on the planet.

I've been trying to gain weight, and it hasn't been easy.

Eat more protein. A friend of mine suggested taking those whey protein shakes to supplement your daily diet if you're trying to gain weight. I'm a little iffy about that prospect though, so I say stick to lean meat if your diet permits them

My weight fluctuates up and down but it usually stays in one range so it doesn't drop too drastically or I gain it too drastically.
