Troubleshoes is the only pony other than Pip to have a coat that is a single color. Maybe they did it to make him look like more of an outsider, along with his size and odd shaped muzzle.
The last two of the Fiendship books are coming in the mail soon, but so far only the Sirens book has been unimpressive. Not bad but nowhere as good as the King Sombra and Tirek books. The Tirek story is about his home life. His stormy relationship with his father, his brothers misplaced loyalty in him, and his apprenticeship with an old wizard who is holding a Unicorn captive. It was odd seeing Discord in the royal court. Since the Sirens are such minor villains their story was mostly silly.

Not everypony is gay for Braeburn. Some people are straight for Braeburn. :3
I really liked the Fiendship is Magic stories! They add some really nice backstory. It sucks how poorly developed Sombra was in the actual show, 'cause he's a pretty cool villain.

This episode was great. Loved all the little references it did. I really didn't expectMaudto get a speaking role or even a cameo really. Tree Hugger is a nice addition IMO as well, she was fun.
Pinkie shaking the camera was funny but I see a lot of people likely to hate it. Discord was great here and I like how they did this Smoozeit was basically the same but on a smaller scale.
I enjoyed seeing more of Discord. It's always fun when he's around.
And as for spoilers, speaking as a fellow member and not as a mod, I prefer to see any discussion of anything that hasn't aired/been released yet in spoiler tags, but once it comes out, it's all fair game.
I loved the episode. I also thought it was really subtle with its references, which I appreciate. Nobody likes "HEY GUYS CHECK OUT THIS REFERENCE LOL." *glares at Double Rainboom*
The puppet dimension made me laugh.

I finally read the last two fiendship comics. The Nightmare Moon one was good with Nightmare Moon trying to strike back at Celestia through dreams. The Chrysalis story was good also but I don't know how to feel about the origin of the Changelings. A friend of mine has a really good head canon that Chrysalis was the princess from the story of the founding of hearts and hooves day. I like how it showed that the Changelings are not as implacable as foes as we are led to believe. The first conflict with Celestia and the run in with the dragon shows that they are just as vulnerable to attack as the ponies are. So far I think that the King Sombra and Queen Chrysalis stories were the best of the FIENDship is Magic miniseries. I especially loved that Queen Chrysalis escaped and that King Sombra might return.
Speaking of Fiends...

It was nice seeing Gilda again and funny that pretty much all Gryphons are jerks, but it's been left up to her to make them better instead of just relying on the idol to fix everything.
It was really nice to see something outside of pony society for once! And Gilda coming back was nice that's for sure. The one thing I didn't get was, was that town actually part of the Gryphon Kingdom or Equestria? The way they got there made it seem like it was a part of Equestria but they talked about it like it was a separate kingdom completely.
It's kind of odd, we've heard about other places in terms of "the most X place in Equestria!" So like, maybe Equestria is just the term for the land these kingdoms are part of? It'd explain why, for instance, the Crystal Empire really doesn't seem much bigger than a single city and some countryside.
Ancient Greece with its city-states might be a good comparison.
My brother and I liked that the griffons had heads based on different birds of prey. (we saw vulture and owl)
as for the whole "Griffin Kingdom" thing, I think the Griffin Kingdom is within Equestria, whatever that makes Equestria. having sub-kingdoms under the princesses explains how there a royals like Prince Blueblood who aren't actually related to the princesses (as far as we know)
on another note, I don;t know how many of you will get this, but I made the joke that Gilda should meet Maude and just start calling her "Rock"
hint: Gilda's voice is in an anime called Black Lagoon where another character is nicknamed Rock
I got a copy of the Sombra issue of Fiendship while I was at Awesomecon. $5 for it signed by the artist so I got that and issue 24 of the main comic signed by Brenda Hickey. haven;t read the other one but I liked the Sombra story
also, teasers for episode 100 have me excited. I know it's pandering, but as long as they keep it to one episode it should be fine
Sleet wrote:Also it's odd how nobody even cared to retrieve the idol. I mean, it'd be hard, but it's not like it disappeared! It just went further in.
I have a headcanon that the gryphons will actually attempt to send a retrieval party for it in the future once their intentions are not so much fuelled by bits.
Anyone listened to the metal opera moonrise? I listened to it and it was good,i'm not sure if it is mlp themed or music themed. Seems to be a song about MLP:FIM

I don't know what happened. But I was wondering that to.
KJOokami wrote:There is a literal shark-jumping in that clip. I'm glad they're fully aware of the status of this episode. Haha.
They did't just jump one shark, the jumped All the sharks.

The puppet dimension made me laugh.
Wasn't double rainboom a fan made thing?
The discord episode was fun (along with the part with pinkie in the bakery, makes me wonder the extent of her 4th wall breaking)

I thought this episode was amazing, to me it lived up to the hype and then some. A few things went a bit to long like the part with Octavia and Vinyl and the town and Lyra and Bon Bon saying they were "Best Friends" every other line.
Other then that it was really good, to many parts I liked to sit here and list them all.
The references, the call-backs, the cameos, the countless nods to fans...
It's just an explosion of fanservice and pretty darn near perfect.
I say NEAR perfect...I agree with Ice, the pacing of Octavia / Vinyl and Lyra / Bon bon coulda been better. I felt a bit of emotional pain when Lyra / Bon Bon used the "best friends" line. I'm an avid follower of the Heartstrings fan comic and this episode pretty much shatters that comic's canon into a million peices. And what the heck was that "Bon Bon is a super secret agent" bit? Where did THAT come from?!?
Other than that, I don't really see much wrong with this episode.
It's instantly rocketed to the top of my favourites list.
I wonder who invited that changeling to the wedding? And who knew Gummy lived such a complex inner life?
I think they decided to delve into some absurdest humor with the whole Bon Bon secret agent thing. Seeing Celestia and Luna arguing and being snarky with each other really brought a smile to my face.

My headcanon is that there are just hiveless changelings that go from wedding to wedding to soak up ambient love. No disguise despite Cadance and Shining Armor being around, so they must at least be familiar with the concept.
