Part of me really wants to redo that one though because (I don't know if you read either of the descriptions or not) I, being the tech noobie that I am, didn't understand that I had to change my default input device in addition to plugging in my new mic. So I ended up recording with my crappy laptop mic instead without realizing it. So there's tons of static (which can be heard pretty clearly in the beginning and at points when the music is low) and my voice isn't nearly as clear (or loud; also hadn't figured out about using the compressor function yet) as it should be.

I'm not expecting to be the next MandoPony or anything (I'm not a songwriter/musician, or a countertenor for that matter), but I can't really describe how nice it is to get some positive feedback. :]

Whoa man I like your voice, neat stuff. Also the "How ya doin'" was great.
The only problem I had was the timing got a little weird in the last verse, but otherwise it's solid.

That was really good I gave it a like as well. The thing with covers of Pony songs is no matter how its done or who does it its always really weird at first since I always expect the original voices.

Yeah, my recording software has been doing this weird thing the last few days (it was fine when I was recording my This Day Aria cover) where after I stop a recording, it jumbles up the starting point (usually a couple frames to the right) and throws the entire flow out of wack. I think I ended up recording that last section about 7 or 8 times before I called it "close enough" with what you heard on the track. It's pretty frustrating. :/ I'm usually pretty good with staying on beat, but that little bug has really been throwing me off.

Also, that picture is probably one of the coolest I've seen of the CMC. Love your style!

I know what you mean. It's always kinda jarring listening to covers the first time through because, like you said, you're expecting the usual voices. The only ones that don't really bother me anymore are MandoPony's, and that's because I listen to them all the time, so I've gotten used to some of them more than the original show tunes. XD His cover of Find a Pet will probably be the next song I cover (which should be a ton of fun, because I'll get to show off my mixed voice and falsetto a little bit in that).

Actually, If I got to work ponifying some songs, would you record them for me? (pending your judgement on if the lyrics are good or not, of course.) Cause I'd like to get into the original pony works stuff, but have very little musical talent.

Absolutely. I actually have the opposite problem, funnily enough. I'm a half decent singer, but I tend to be pretty bad with lyrics. Heh.

Sigh...I'm super bummed out, gang. I submitted my new story, "Iron Mare" to EqD with a request for it not to be grouped with my other two fics on there. They said no though, it has to be grouped in. It's a complete shift in tone and genre, from high fantasy to Marvel-style superheroes, and is written so that people don't need to read the other two stories to get into this one. Plus, with two fics before it, there's no way I'll be getting new readers with this.

Literally the only connection it has to those past stories is being set in the same universe...

I'm sorry that you are bummed out. Its your work, they should not be the ones dictating how your work is presented. They probably just did it because they are all written by you. Just add a little warning note at the beginning so your readers know the difference.

No, EqD discourages notes at the beginning of chapters. Also, my main problem is this story not getting read because of readers not getting through the other two stories. They wouldn't have a chance to read the note.

That is a problem. Maybe you could make a note at the beginning of the first story that you have and let everyone know your most recent one is totally different.
