Grape's seems kinda mean in this strip. I mean, the look on her face in panel four looks very condescending to me.

I wonder what she would say about a cat that is mostly interested in dog things and hanging out with dogs.

Of course, she HAS to lord it over his head while she can. The mouse, that was why of course, just didn't see it over there, on the table, under the spotlight... with a giant arrow pointing to it.

I have NEVER seen Peanut blush THAT much before....

And I wondered when that photo was going to come back into the story!

And has the "jingley mouse" been in the comic before...?

Anyway, she does seem to be taking this pretty casually. And Grape's expression in the last panel is gold.

Although personally, I don't cotton to "unspoken assumptions," Grape....

I wonder what's going to happen NOW....

Something has dawned on me... this is just a crush
One of the major reasons people keep crushes and romance hidden is because they think it will change the way people view them.
Grape knew for some time that Peanut had a crush on her, yet she still likes who he is
Grape obviously does not mind Peanuts interest. She honestly seems okay with it, otherwise she would have nipped it in the butt back when it was just blossoming.

I like to believe that Grape is mature enough to explain to Peanut that her knowing his feelings is not a bad thing.
There is a deep level of flattery in knowing someone thinks of you in such high regards.
Grape cares for Peanut, maybe only as a sibling but thats still a bond of love. Whether they 'hook up' or not, they share a bond just as special as a romantic relationship.

Peanut also clearly enjoys Tarot's company and affection, he might not have deep emotional feelings for her yet but nothing is set in stone.

If there is two things I have learned in my many many years living on this planet, its that:

One, love takes many forms, each as important as the next. I love my family... I love my significant others... I love my best friends... and I love this comic

Two: Crushes are fickle things based on root attractions, and can lead to some of the best lessons one can learn about oneself. Heck, I once had a crush on someone who turned out to be one of my best friends.

Amazing! This comic is one of the best! Last panel Peanut would make such a great emoticon.... and Grape couldn't be crueler about this, right? But then again, what he's doing is creepy.

And then that photo. I wonder if Tarot knew about this. If yes, why did she continue to go out with Peanut? If no, why? She's a seer, right?

Keep in mind that this is sheer conjecture, but Tarot has never claimed to be Peanut's girlfriend at all; in fact, when Grape pointed this out to her a couple of strips ago, she dodged the question quite artfully. When we first meet her, Tarot says that she arrived in Peanut's hour of need to be his "companion", and that she did so at the behest of the spirits, who apparently treat it as a big deal. This is also when she gives her terrifying speech about people who don't have love in their hearts and Jason Voorhees killing people in the woods. A little later, she actually says that she can't leave unless Grape accepts Peanut--implying that she would if Grape did so--and because she doesn't, Tarot stays behind. Throughout her appearances, you get the gist that Tarot isn't directly interacting with Grape and Peanut so much as she is guiding them toward something bigger than themselves. True love? A confrontation with Pete? White Castle? Who knows?

... well okay, Rick knows, but he's not telling.

Well she did say that to accept Peanut fully Grape would have to break Max's heart, I can't really see that implying anything other then falling in love with Peanut.

You make good points, except that I think Tarot was dodging the question of her being psychic, not of her being Peanut's girlfriend.

Nope. So many people root for Peanut and Grape because if there are two characters who match so well it is them. I don't know for how long Rick will keep us suspended, but those two are made for each other as Tarot has foreseen. Max is just the character who can be best friend and source of countless plots.
And even the P+G coupling itself wouldn't be any interspecies 'anomaly' as we're seeing Fido (a POLICE DOG) and Sabrina working out well, and Joey has an even weirder relationship himself, so there is no reason to fuss about the cat+dog matter.

You could be right about this, but this also illustrates my point: Tarot could have used her abilities to prevent all this drama from ever happening, but she chooses not to, which suggests that the drama itself has a higher purpose.
