the only character design I didn't like very much, was Pinkie Pie's for one reason: Everytime I look at her human form I remember of Princess Moarbucks (did I write her surname correctly?) from powerpuff girls Z.

The only thing that made me ever look twice at MLP was the name Derpy Hooves. For obvious reasons.

That's a fan name, but they've caught on to her popularity! They've been deliberately writing her into a few places, and now they're going to include her in storyboards.

I can't give a reference due to its location, but whenever a generic grey pegasus was in a scene, it was sent back to get its eyes 'corrected'. And by 'corrected' I mean made derpy.

I can confirm that Ditzy Doo is not her official name because she was never given an official name. She was a background pony. Background ponies aren't given names. However, the reaction to the fan-dubbed "Derpy Hooves" was so great that Jayson Thiessen, the supervising director, wrote that "whenever we would catch the grey pony in the BG I'd call for a revision on her eyes to make them DERP."

This seems to be where the 'Ditzy Doo' thing comes from (the 'later episode' she mentions is Winter Wrap Up, and obviously what she suggested never happened):

On the other hand, when selling sketches to raise money for Japan, one of the sketches sold was of a pony explicitly named 'Derpy Hooves':

People usually work it out as this. Ditzy Doo is her name ,but her nick name is Derpy Hooves.

Also I know I awlays bring this subject up at random but I think you should all understand by now I LOVE THEMESONGS its like my facination. So I changed them again.

But it's not like it's an opinion or something. I'm telling you that the gray pony that all the fans have nicknamed Derpy Hooves doesn't have a name right now. So no, her name isn't Ditzy Doo any more than it is Derpy Hooves.

I think the only evidence that her "official" name would be Ditzy Doo is that Lauren Faust said if the pony named Ditzy Doo would ever show up, they might take Derpy's model for that. Since Ditzy Doo has never appeared, I think it's pretty safe to say that Derpy Hooves is as close to an official name as she could possibly have.

Plus the "There's a Pony For That" commercial showed the "Derp-Zam!" application on the iPhone. Not "Ditz-Zam!"

I guess the only way the NC would comment on that would be in an Old vs new comparing ALL generations (or maybe just the first and the last). I think it's more probable the Nostalgia Chick comment on this series. And I've seen many people requesting that in her MLP movie review comment area.
