All The King's Men
Hey, I've just finished reading through the comic archives and I was wondering, is the story Rick mentioned called "All the King's Men" done/available yet? Cause I can't find it anywhere.
The mention is in here, in the comments; https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/12/ ... christmas/
If it's not finished yet, anyone have any idea when it will be, or if it will be?
I'd really like to read it :p

Re: All The King's Men
nope. not out yet.
Rick mentioned it was a present: when it'll be out is uncertain, but you can expect it to be soon =)
All we can look forward to is that it's more than likely a juicy King-sized story! /pun

XD That's really really bad.All we can look forward to is that it's more than likely a juicy King-sized story! /pun
But you saved me valuable searching time, so thank you.
And yeah, King is probably one of my favourite characters now, which is kind of worrying really. Last time I read through a dog-based comic archive in a few days my favourite character, who was also an evil dog being reformed, died suddenly and was never in another comic o_0
Re: All The King's Men
Gah. sorry to hear
I like King too, but we all know he's been a human at some point and many people hope he doesn't change. >_> <_<
but i highly doubt something like that will happen anytime soon, given how the community is suddenly all interested in King now, so i'm sure you got nothing to worry about =P

Killing a character, who is very loved by all the readers - is a hard step, but it gives result. (And the giant wave of flood washes away the forums)
But I don't think, that Rick is going to do anything THAT scary... So don't worry.

Oh man, this is really really not the first time this has been asked. I don't really mind, but still.
Guys, give it time. A lot of time.

Re: All The King's Men
Yah, sorry, i figured it'd probably been asked before, but I typed "King" and "King's men" into the search to see if it was already a topic and got, like, 4 matches, and they were all just discussing him in the comic.Oh man, this is really really not the first time this has been asked. I don't really mind, but still.
But yeah, now I know it's not done yet I'm fine ^^
I just didn't want to think it was some place really obvious that I'd kept missing.

Starting to write a book, obviously, means stopping to draw comics (or do it much more rarely) - so I prefer to read new comic every two days better, than waiting for long-long time to read a book.FerretWithASpork wrote:Whattaya know, we get a preview, and it's amazing!!!

He is presently working on multiple books in various settings he has created, in addition to Housepets, and in addition to college.RaptorAnton wrote:Starting to write a book, obviously, means stopping to draw comics (or do it much more rarely) - so I prefer to read new comic every two days better, than waiting for long-long time to read a book.FerretWithASpork wrote:Whattaya know, we get a preview, and it's amazing!!!

A book... of the comic... not a novel. It's a way for a webcomic author to make money to continue making webcomics.RaptorAnton wrote:Starting to write a book, obviously, means stopping to draw comics (or do it much more rarely) - so I prefer to read new comic every two days better, than waiting for long-long time to read a book.FerretWithASpork wrote:Whattaya know, we get a preview, and it's amazing!!!

Re: All The King's Men
Can someone inform me of when, or where, this preview of this... "All the King's Men" thing, that I can only assume upon since I know nothing about it, is?

More the story under it, but yeah XDAh, it was the picture, I must have skimmed past that. Thank you.
Re: All The King's Men
No theres not. Its just the picture, unless you hold the mouse over it for a few second you get a few words. All I see under it is the options to turn the page and a looong stretch of wood background.

Re: All The King's Men
Rick, perhaps you should indicate in the picture that there is a story below? =P.
I didn't think it would be possible not notice the wall of text below it.
But apparently some people have JUST the right resolution as to only see the picture.
If you are reading through for the first time, the image may seem like the opening page to an arc (or the closing page to the last one).
So you'd naturally just continue on then.

Re: All The King's Men
Is there or is there not something? I've looked more than thrice at the picture, below it, next to it (both 2d directions), above it, and even beyond it. But there is nothing. If it is a story with words, would thou do me a favor and copy/paste it onto a post here, that way I don't have to smash this computer and scrounge up the money to buy one that knows how to work?

Re: All The King's Men
Are you sure you are looking at this page: Comic Feature Page (correct).
And not just this page: Story Arc Archive Page (incorrect).
Click the first link and scroll down. If there isn't a wall of glorious text singing to the heavens, switch to Mozilla Firefox (browser).
On second thought, switch to Mozilla Firefox anyways, it is more secure .

Gah! I saw it for a second and then it disappeared, yes I did wait a few minutes (23 to be exact), but it didn't come back.... the internets been runnin' pretty slow lately... but the story didn't show on mi madre's laptop either... I'll change the browser, see if it works better... and is faster.
EDIT: It worked! And I already can't wait for the next part. What do ya think King'll do?

Re: All The King's Men
I read through it and all I could think of at the time was "what would I have done if it were me?"
Darn it but now I can't stop thinking about it!
Gotta say that I liked it, even if I can't wholy agree with King's attitude.

Life is like a book, each day is a new page. You have the pen in hand, now what are you going to write? Are you going to write a horror, romance, a fantasy? But write carefully, for you are using a pen and pages cannot be erased.
