It is on, they brought it back.

Sorta, it's hard to find.
Wha? No way, it had such a great ending though! You sre you aren't just seeing reruns, or some kind of spin-off?

KND Reruns is what yer watching, after all these years I just realized that funky sequence with the equipment, they are actually saying an acronym for that.

Avatar TLAB was a great step for Nickelodeon, introduced a lot of kids to anime, despite not being a full fledged one.

I think Regular Show and MAD are the only new cartoons worth watching anymore; RS nicely fills the absurdist/retro gap that Homestar Runner left since the Brothers Chaps slowed down. Adventure Time looks good; I need to see more of it.

I miss the 90s: Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Histeria!, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers, CatDog, Ren & Stimpy, and all the crazy stuff on Cartoon Network.

CaptainPea, totally agree with you about SpongeBob. Everything about it since the movie has been utter fail.

I miss the original Clone Wars miniseries. The CG show just doesn't compare.

That came on around the time I was beginning to get out of watching tv, so I didn't really see much of it. The couple of episodes I did see though weren't too bad.

I saw a couple episodes, and I was really turned away by the leads' voices. They were pretty grating. I liked the art, but I don't remember it being particularly entertaining and the voices were really hard to listen to for me.

I think all those years of cartoon acting is killing Tom Kenney's* voice, as it has gotten progressively higher and squeakier over the years. At least on TV. But yeah, compare '99 Spongebob to a more recent one and there's a very clear difference in his voice. Maybe directors like that, I dunno. I find it obnoxious.

*Kenney did have a voice on that show, right?

even before that, apparently he was Heffer on Rocko's Modern Life, a much less annoying voice.

I used to love Rocko's Modern Life when it was on.

The 90s had a lot of great shows, actually. I wonder what happened to that momentum...

I miss TailSpin with its awesome visuals (just compare their sceneries with them of today's shows) as well as Dog City and its humor.

Ooh, Tailspin! That show was great! :D And now I'm reminded of Goof Troop, which is another underrated classic in my opinion.

OK, one show can't keep this from being a dark age of animation, but it's definitely part of the reason!

All the good toons are all but vanished, luckily they do show courage from time to time on CN.

On another note, I heard there is a new series of Thunder cats! It looks very nice to boot! Hopefully it doesn't suck. :?

I think it's a similar principle to how the generations are with music. People forget about the bad cartoons from a generation (because they were bad) and only remember the good ones. On the other hand, the bad ones from today are still around, so right now we're experiencing the good and the bad, which makes today's cartoons appear worse by comparison. I'm willing to concede that the '90s was a better time for cartoons; at least by a little bit. But not by such a large margin that it's fair to say that the good toons are all but vanished.

I've never watched the original Thunder Cats, so if I hear enough good things about the new series, I might have to look into it.

I like crude humor every now and then. Beavis and Butthead and Celebrity Deathmatch were about the only toons from MTV and VH1 that were any good. Except that Daria show. It was okay...

And the 90s had great shows. I'll concede that nostalgia and the fact that some bad ones were forgotten, but really, all I have really seen are shows that follow the same basic outline. There is very little creativity nowadays. I have only seen a couple of new shows that show any kind of creativity.

Maybe this is why MLP: FiM is so popular nowadays?

MLP:FiM, Adventur Time, and Regular show are some of the few creative ones. I haven't really seen much else in the last five or so years. Just "safe" shows that follow the same formula over and over again. We need more experimentation in animation right now.

And yes, Bino. Celebrity Deathmatch was one of my favorites when it was on.

*puts on his glasses, bow tie, and fez*

MLP: FiM is magnificent, Beavis and Buthead was not what the industry needed, Celebrity Deathmatch was entertaining, Johnny Test is the shining example of lazy writing and animation, anything created by Lauren Faust or Genndy Tartakovsky deserves the highest recommendations, and Spectacular Spider-Man deserved way more than two seasons.

*takes off glasses, fez, and bow tie and eeps*

That is, um, if everyone else thinks that..

I concur with the entirety of that self-confident and intelligent young man's statement.

Except I didn't care for Celebrity Deathmatch.

I think I was too young for Celebrity Deathmatch.

I blame Beavis and Butthead for the state of "adult" animation today. Though South Park has some responsibility. Which is ironic, because South Park actually matured into a really good show.
