I've listened to most of those songs, and honestly, they're nothing special. I just don't like their style.Tha Housedog wrote:Papercut, One Step Closer, With You, Points Of Authority, Crawling, Runaway, By Myself, In The End, A Place For My Head, Forgotten, Cure For The Itch, and Pushing Me Away, in that order.
You really should try out the rest of Hybrid Theory before you dismiss all of Linkin Park's music.

Well, as long as it's an educated opinion, I don't mind. I just don't like people bashing what they don't know.Alex wrote:I've listened to most of those songs, and honestly, they're nothing special. Also, for the sake of not going off-topic, I've been listening to the original Three Days Grace album. It's freakin' awesome!

How about more non-English songs? It's a ballad, a really old one. And no, I'm not the type that thinks that old music is good music. I think that good music is good music, be it old or new!
In fact, my most favorite song by Judas Priest is from their album Angel of Retribution (2005), and not something from their older albums.

I listened to all of One Thousand-Suns and it's definitely VERY different from the rest of their discography, here are a few of my favorites:
When They Come For Me [Explicit]
Blackout [Explicit]
Waiting For the End
I've already posted the Catalyst. I enjoyed this album, though my favorite is still Hybrid Theory.

I used to really like Waiting For The End, bu then they started playing it on the radio all the blasted time and it got on my nerves. I agree, Hybrid Theory is still their best.Dubiousity wrote:I listened to all of One Thousand-Suns and it's definitely VERY different from the rest of their discography, here are a few of my favorites:

Blackbirds by Linkin Park is quite good
Re: Music.
While we're on the subject of Linkin Park, this is the only good thing they have ever made possible.
(ok that's a lie, Breaking the Habit and Given Up are decent too I guess)
To get off the subject of Linkin Park, have some sweet reggae.

As for the reggae, I could never really get into it.

What is this?! Reggae, from Jamaica? Don't you know all the awesome reggae comes from Germany?
I'm joking of course.

Speaking of Reggae and not German Reggae specifically, I love me some Buju Banton.

The Commodores
The Gap Band
James Brown

Re: Music.
For about one album (that one album being This Darkened Heart, The Fall of Ideals not so much but I can sort of see the case for it) they were as good as melodic metalcore can aspire to be (i.e. slightly better than mediocre). Starting with Overcome though they're dreadful. At times they can be as bad as Emmure.AllHailKingKing wrote:any one like All that remains. my favorite song by them is The last time.

And really Machchunk? As bad as Emmure? I think that's exaggerating things a bit!

Heh, it feels sort of weird seeing someone reply to something I edited out 30 minutes ago at least.Senator_Sunburst wrote:At the Gates is pretty good.
Maybe, maybe not, it depends on the song. For instance, "Now Let Them Tremble".And really Machchunk? As bad as Emmure? I think that's exaggerating things a bit!

You mean the "song" that I always skip off that album because it shouldn't even qualify as a song? Yeah, I guess. But even that one is in my opinion, better than anything Emmure has done. Jeez, if you're going to bring up Emmure you might as well compare them to Brokencyde. (Don't, ATR is not that bad either)Maybe, maybe not, it depends on the song. For instance, "Now Let Them Tremble".

I can't get enough of Jackal Queenston.
Splatterhouse
Raatid Fiah!
Fire Planet
Set Me Free (Uplift Remix)
(Hey look, one of my Aduiosurf videos is on page 3 of the search results!)
Blacks are Back
I also want to say that Last.fm is pretty useful. Never thought it would be before I tried it.

Re: Music.
Eh, I feel there's a hierarchy at the bottom. There's Dot Dot Curve, which isn't unlistenable but clearly goofy as heck and bad. Then Emmure, which is even worse but not completely unlistenable. Then comes BrokeNCYDE, which is definitely unlistenable and devoid of merit.Jeez, if you're going to bring up Emmure you might as well compare them to Brokencyde. (Don't, ATR is not that bad either)
But yea, recent ATR overall is still better than many popular metal bands. It's a long way to the bottom.

Re: Music.
Some other artists that are, at their worst, as bad as BrokenCYDE, for reference:
Taio Cruz
Puddle of Mudd
Enrique Iglesias
Kid Rock
Glee
Brian Wilson
For anyone who actually listened to all of those, here's some detox!

Dragonforce auditions have ended! (link)
I'm hoping this means that they've either found a new lead singer, or that they're deciding one right now! I'm a massive dragonforce fan, and just had to get this out there! I'm really, really excited for Dragonforce's future right now!

I'm not sure they'll sound any different with a new lead singer, so I'm sure nothing will really change.
I'm more interested in finding out who Dream Theater's new drummer is.

I really need to look into that band more, I didn't even know they were missing a drummer. I really need to listen to that band more if anything, hehe...
Gotta say, there are some really nice dragonforce auditions across youtube. I was blown away by this clip.
