I'm a Missourian, so we're pretty much neighbors, but I still see you guys as Southerners. I'm also curious as to what people see us as. As an insider, I'd say we're kind of the gateway to the South (ha, Missouri humor). We've got both cultures inside one state.

It depends really. A lot of people would say that Florida is more of a northern state, at least the southern part. From a cultural aspect I would include kentucky, missouri, and maybe even indianna as part of the south. There is little point discussing the historical North/South,since the Civil War pretty much showed us that alignment. As for the geographical aspect, I have no idea.

I meant I see you as a culturally Southern state. Of course, this isn't a very first-hand experience, as the only time I've been in Kentucky was driving through it and only getting out once to eat at a KFC just so I could say I did.

So yeah, genders... It seems to me that despite all these new members, our gender ratio really isn't changing much at all. I'm honestly surprised at how male this place is. I think there should be more girls here than most places online, yet the ratio seems lower than what I would have guessed the average to be.

Maybe Housepets just appeals to boys more than girls, or maybe most girls are not interested in joining a forum for a webcomic even though they like the webcomic, or maybe most girls are put off because these forums are rather male dominated.

I think it's probably the second two. The first one I really doubt. Housepets! is not the kind of webcomic that would appeal primarily to guys. Furry appeal aside.
