I have this strange feeling like that's been suggested to me before.Sleet wrote:I'm thinking "NocturnalVulpine."
:P
there is no such thing as luck. if there was, there would surely be at least one person with all of it, and nothing bad would happen to them ever. but as far as I can tell, bad things happen to everyone.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
dual accounting would be against the rules. It uses up more database (which is what stores most of the info for the site) and dual accounting is usually used by people avoiding bans.

Nope, just a more "original" version of "NightFox."
And by "original" I mean "lame and pretentious."

I referred to "chumhandle", actually.
And it sounds distinguished IMO.

I think Sleet's previous post was preceded with an implied, "Oh, if 'chumhandle' is Australianese for 'nickname', then I have my response here, which is not implied, but actually written."Liam wrote:I referred to "chumhandle", actually.

to my understanding (which is often wrong) yes. "handel" is a term used by truckers on the cb radio. its like a username, acctually. (hehe, cb radio is like a forum, if you think about it that way) chum means friend. so yes, this is very likely the meaning.Liam wrote:Australianese for "nickname"?

Eh mostly the good stories come after you choose a name. And the people who spend a long time on a name, eh, better off doing sommat else.

Oh, the evolving vernacular of the forums. First we were dinosaurs; then we became whatever that longwinded title Buck gave us was; now we're Legacy Members?

Yes. I feel that members that have been active this long deserve an awesome title.Dissension wrote:Oh, the evolving vernacular of the forums. First we were dinosaurs; then we became whatever that longwinded title Buck gave us was; now we're Legacy Members?
Besides, I'm pretty sure that one has been used before.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
I wanted something cool for another site about six or seven years ago, so I looked for synonyms of an idea I wanted my username to express. I can't remember what that was, but this was a synonym of a synonym or something like that, I think? Anyway, I've used it since then.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
Well, mine went like this (and there is some evolution process here)
First: Challenger_lover2007(my original Yahoo! account, which is still valid, I use it everyday)
Progressed into: challengerlover2007 (no underscore for simplicity)
Further progressed into: Challenger01 (the whole "lover" bit got to some people)
It was originally my love for the Dodge Challenger (specifically the 2010 but mostly the 1971). I made the Yahoo! account in '07, which is where 2007 came from. Then on some site my name was too long, so I shortened it down to "01" so I could say I was the first, and also, a Dukes of Hazzard reference. So yeah, progression is awesome!

No really, all of you. It was a reference. As much as I didn't expect it to be gotten, I certainly didn't expect everyone to assume it was anything less than silliness.

Shush, the editorial office of the Oxford Dictionary will acknowledge this as a legitimate term once I have kidnapped their queen.
They will acknowledge my new currency, too.

Re: How did you come up with your username?
Do you really have to nitpick? It was over a decade ago and Sonic games were very popular back then. I could change the name if I wanted to but the name has grown on me and the character himself is nothing like Miles Prower. And I have not used any other names from Sonic games or other humanoid animals.

Which coincidentally enough is the name of an artist who had a techno song featured in NFS: Underground 2. But yeah, cool name!Tha Housedog wrote:Mine was a pun off of "Felix Da Housecat"

Re: How did you come up with your username?
I'm not that proud of my user name but it works pretty well with my robot avatar. To tell the truth the way I came up with it is pretty interesting. I used to like pokemon and I was signing up to this dodgy pokemon website when a popup came up advertising the ps3 and wii so I just typed that in. Since I couldn't read very well I spelled it wrong and have used it for nearly every user til now. I am disappointed with the fact it can be googled and found easily though.
Re: How did you come up with your username?
Oh...I can not always tell on these forums when people are not serious, there should be an emotion icon selection so that people can indicate when their joking, being sarcastic, and so on.Sleet wrote:I'm just joking around. I avoid being funny myself because there is always a 50/50 chance of others finding my jokes funny, especially if its on the internet because its more difficult without visual assistance.
Sorry, did not mean to derail the topic.
