That was the sort of music that helped me cope throughout middle school and half of high school, but then I got tired of listening to the same songs without any hope those bands would release new music, so i got into indie rock.

well sorry, but that one song is really catchy in my opinion...
And just to clarify, that's the only one of their songs that I like. Does that mean anything???
And why so critical? I wouldn't be critical of you. I mean, if you said that you liked the jonas brothers I might flip out at you a bit, but its not like the beach boys are that bad

Yeah, I do that lot.
I was watching a movie though (Madagascar) and heard that song "Move it" or whatever its called. Oddly enough, I can somewhat picture those ferrets doing that song at a party of some sort. Would be fun to see.

Current song?

Mendelssohn's Violin Concherto, namely with Midori Goto as the soloist. yes, that's right, I have classical music stuck in my head.

But, in general, my music tastes are very all over the place, I'll go from Queen to Dream Theater to Jerremy Messersmith to Green Day to Issac Shepard to Jethro Tull and back again.

<3~

But right now, the song I can't get off of my mind is "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin. Actually, I've been listening through the whole "Houses of the Holy" album a lot lately. As for my taste in music in general, I listen to pretty much anything. I'm not a big fan of some country, mainstream (Rap, R&B, Pop), technical death metal, and extratone. I mean, I still like it (in most instances), just I would prefer to listen to other things. :3

Well, about the mainstream; I like the genres, just the artists that gets mainstream attention in the US aren't great. I just don't see any value in most of what they write. I don't like pointless songs about stupid subjects, of which the sole purpose is not to express the artist, but to earn money.

Pogo's Alice indeed is A+. I don't really like the rest of the album, it seems like it's trying too hard to be like Alice. I really enjoyed the album Weave and Wish, though.

So if I like the s/t by LCD Soundsystem, will I like Sound of Silver? Everyone says it's great, but to me it sounds a bit abrasive, but I'm starting to get used to it. I haven't bought it yet.

So, as you know, everybody has his own "BEST MUSIC EVER" list.
I mean songs that makes people stay on listening until song will end.
I've checked my whole playlist (I dunno how many songs are there, but I have a separate hard drive for music for 100Gb) and chosen ten "best songs ever":

Saving Abel - Addicted
Billy Talent - Fallen leaves
Flypside - Someday
The punisher - Broken
Grits - My life be like (OST Fast & Furious 3)
Linkin park - In the end
Chad Kroeger - Hero (theme from Spiderman)
Plazma - Take my love
Rock - I Am Rock
Gorillaz & De la soil - Feel good inc.

They are not listed like "this one is better that", they all are great.

I used to listen to nothing but country and some oldies. Only a few years ago I got into electronic and techno stuff. And within the past year and a half I've gotten into rock more, like The Killers, Foo Fighters, and some C&C. Nothing specific.
Oh and some classical stuff like Bach.

Owl City is actually one of my favorite bands out there. I'm a huge han off synthesized parts in music, and Adam Young's lyrics are so catchy, I just really like the music.
