Rising up, and I’m still a creep
Escaping jail, we took our chances;
Lived like mortals and now life is sweet
just a God who will always be alive!
So many live, ended so fast
all sacrificed for my glory
I won’t lose my grip on what has passed
I’ll join the fight to stay alive
It’s the rise of the eighties
as we join in the fight
and rise up to the
defence of our rivals
and the last known celestials
shall unite in the plight
and watch over them all
whilst I gloat…

So this is, like, a variation on the closing scene in Saving Private Ryan where the American fighter comes sweeping unexpectedly down to smash the Panzer tank in time to save Captain Tom Hanks who is plunking pistol shots at his on-coming armored doom ... ?

Maybe Spirit Dragon took music lessons? Celestials always have to have an accompaniment when they do anything. Infernals, on the other had, prefer sobs and screams to tunes - more focused, y'know.

Fun fact the symbol on Pete's chest is known as a triquetra which was first scene in use during the Iron Age which took place between the 15th Century BCE to the 3rd Century BCE.
I know it because it was a symbol that was used as the "Power of Three" on the television series Charmed which ran for 8 years.

wait, wait, I just realized: that's a trinity symbol. Kitsune has established himself as the literal father; Pete, the son; and "spirit" dragon is the holy spirit who's been subtly nudging things along since the beginning? AM I THE ONLY ONE SEEING THIS?? What does this mean about the nature of the Housepets universe?!

It means that the whole reality in the Housepets! universe is really just a game to them. If the three of them are The Trinity then life there is only for their amusement.

And I just realized that when Pete said “Let’s finish this first”, it was an offer to team up with Kitsune and banish the devil. But after that, they will have it out. At the very least Pete will tell Kitsune that there’s no way they are going back to being mortal.

Except that the game that they lost which resulted in them becoming mortal was already finished so it couldn't be that. Pete and Dragon lost fair and square so they can't circumvent their punishment.
