Title Text: and there's more where that came from. the coconuts I mean. not sure, there's just a huge pile right here

Worse than "death by a thousand cuts," "irritation by a thousand bites."

Sometimes the absurd truth
is difficult to bear
you just got beaned, my friend,
by that Squirrel by there.
He got your attention
in a dramatic way
so pay attention
to what the kid will say.
He needs your help, you see
to work out why he is;
So tell him what you know;
let him in on the biz.

So, Marion finally got bite an earlobe. Poor Thomas cant catch a break. Or a coconut for that matter.

Wonder if the wolves tried biting him when they interogated him.

We are spending more time at the zoo than I would have ever guessed.

As for the pile of coconuts, I can see some of other primates storing them in that tree away from the staff. Stealing from the vendors and hoarding seems like something troublemaking zoo animals would do.

Marion is not messing around anymore.

I find the fact that Thomas is yelling "Uncle" (despite the obvious reason why someone says it) amusing because it reminds me of Henry. You can't help but think he crying for Henry Milton to save him. Begging for mercy for being a corrupt little brat.

I'll be honest. I've never been prouder of Marion than I am in this moment. Resorting to violence to get what he wants. (Bonus Points because its Thomas)

Another reason for Thomes to tell bollox to Marion. I wouldn't even be mad. Violence is never an answer.

Well, the Wolves tried not violence and didn't get anywhere...

And I doubt he's had time for his shots, Thomas...

so should Marion. Else it would teach wrong morals. Just saying.

If he's a thousand times Marion's weight, Thomas should do a barrel roll. Marion's had shots, just not the ones Thomas is thinking of since he doesn't know yet that Marion was human a few days ago. This does raise the question of if Marion is extra susceptible to squirrel diseases. King got his shots relatively soon after becoming a dog.

Hah, it was Marion after all with a nutty arsenal up in the trees! Called it! Glad to see Marion seizing the day and some character agency of his own after all this time.

So squirrels biting ears has come up twice now; first in the Waterworks strip and second time in this strip. Is that something that squirrels have actually done to people in real life a not-insignificant number of times for it to have shown up here? Or is it just something original that’s going to become a running gag? Cause I’m all for that as a running gag either way.

Also, I love the expressions in this strip, Marion in the second panel and Thomas in the fourth panel especially.

Throwing nuts, and biting. At least he’s getting used to being a squirrel now. If he didn’t already have a human girlfriend I’d say he was in danger of “going native”

Well, that escalated quickly!! If one team in the China-Us trade talks tries that tactic, we'll know where they got their inspiration.........

Personally, I'd have those coconuts standing in a row, but then, maybe I'm just old.

So either Marion climbed the tree and leveraged gravitational potential energy to increase the velocity of the coconut... or he threw the coconut and Newton's third law sent him flying up into the tree.

The first is more likely, but the second is funnier.

I'm guessing that Lois is continuing to distract Poncho.

I'm not quite sure that he's not still in danger of that, Ruska....

Marion really has gone wild,
While they're both right in the zoo,
His anger sure doesn't seem quite mild,
Given an ear's attack zone two.
Thomas, just give him what he wants
'Fore he takes off your ear.
He'll use lots and lots of taunts
To remind you that he's still right here.
What'll happen next, I don't know,
But to free yourself, Thomas, the answers you'd better show.

I almost want to see what happened in the few seconds between Thomas dismissing Marion and the bite. Did Marion leap down like a base jumper, or run down and crawl up? Both create some interesting mental images.

I would've liked to see that too. From the position of his feet it looks like he jumped down, though he might just be getting a good ear biting position.

Aaaah! Ear nibbles! :o  Eheh, don't dare him, would be better listen at the squirrel and know what he wants from you, Thomas. :P Yeah, where did you find that coconut? It seemed to be the only one there. :D He got his shots, don't worry (he was an human like you, after all). ;)

Looks like Marion has just decided to take inspiration from Gavin Maxwell’s stories about his pet otters and the otter Mijbil who would pierce unwary people’s ears. I do hope that Marion’s squirrel teeth are a lot more sterile than Mijbil’s teeth. XD

Naw. He only has squirrel strength. It was a struggle for Marion to move his backpack. The only way he could get an unhusked coconut up to speed is if he dropped it on Thomas.

When was the last time you had to carry a high schooler's backpack. With All those textbooks, a human would struggle to carry them. A coconut only weighs 3 pounds.

You also need to keep in mind that Marion is considerably larger than a squirrel of our universe. He is about the same size as Jessica. With opposable thumbs. Getting it up in the tree is still tough, but not as much as it seems at first.

I'm still actually quite smug in the fact that I was right about Marion actually being the ONE to throw the coconut and not Lois like everybody was trying to force me to believe. :P

Anyway, on to the point. Some squirrels do eat coconuts so its not out of the realm of possibility that they could carry one. Throwing it is another matter.

Sure, Marion's larger than one of our squirrels, but I'm using Thomas' head as a reference point and it looks like that coconut is about the same size as Marion.

Squirrels bite off one another's tails to exert dominance.

Well … they can't buy Cadillacs so, yeah, makes sense. Ow.

Not sure how Cadillacs would show dominance towards anyone as when I think of a Cadillac, I tend to think of older people driving them and they don't care that much for the most part if they are better than other old people.

I'm no expert, but modern Cadillac's are a different beast than they used to be. It wasn't that long ago they were making a station wagon with an engine so powerful it could blow away sports cars in a drag race.

https://youtu.be/1sUjOiCj-bQ

I was thinking of this video from a few years ago on Top Gear US. It was a Cadillac CTS wagon vs. a Ferrari California. The race starts right at the 7 minute mark.
