I don't think you're wrong, but I also think if he was given a choice between the fortune and humanity, he'd be the richest camel in the world. And if he was human again, he'd be back to scheming immediately.

I actually was thinking that being trapped as a camel for so long would inspire him to turn his life around.

I don't think so. I think if that was the case, he'd have been more interested in finding out how and why Marion was transformed as it could lead to a cure for him. Instead, he decided to drive a wedge between Marion and the Miltons the moment that he realized there was a connection there.

Time as a camel has not mellowed him out.

OK, for a second I though you were next to a sleeping camel.
Nope. Sophie is our resident canine and she's about sixteen, sleeps like a board. When I was in the army, I was around camels occasionally but never observed them sleeping. Like mules, they're very opinionated so sleeping around them would subject you to a lot of interruptions.

At a local fair a couple years ago, I watched a woman get spit in the face by a Llama. I don't think she was annoying it per se, but rather it wasn't all that happy about all the people nearby.

I kept my distance.

They can be really vicious if they want to. When I was in college, they used a llama to guard the sheep because it was said they would drive away a mountain lion. I remember walking from the parking lot to class often past the sheep pasture and the llama would stand at the fence and stare at the passersby.

Never got spit at, but I'm sure if I'd approached it I'd have gotten wet.

I really now want to see a llama or a camel spit in the face of a HP! character. Maybe Ralph since he doesn't seem easily intimidated. LOL

Never saw anybody get hit but the projectile is both amazing and disgusting. Think of a tobacco plug the size of a baseball. No, actually, don't do that … it's disturbing.

Was thinking about this more.

I have two jobs. Cycle courier, and man-with-van. If I got turned into a squirrel, I couldn't do either of my jobs. If I was turned into some other animal (especially a HPU one) that was larger and bipedal, I'd probably be able to manage the cycle courier job (with increased difficulty and a lot of modifications to my e-bike), but man-with-van work? Aside from the issue of how I could drive the van (physically or legally), would I be able to lift furniture?

... so my answer is still "no"

As a furry, for 20+ years - I can say I wouldn't mind becoming an animal - as in the HP universe.

Species is less important to me, though I'd definitely prefer to be a fox or canine of some sort...
However, in light of the recent story arc in HP, I think I'd have to state that I'd not want to change into another
body (essentially) unless I could remain male - as I am.

I am not trying to sound demeaning to anyone. That's my preference.

Actually that is my preference also and I'm glad somebody stated it. If I HAD to transform into an animal without getting a choice in the matter of it and it was going to happen, I would prefer to stay the female gender also.

Must agree. I may be awkward in a lot of ways but my... male-ness... is completely natural to me. Of course that's not in any way a knock on those who don't feel their biological sex is natural.
It is very interesting to see here how a gender can in theory be a "stronger" part of someone's personal identity than a species.

I don't say "masculinity" because I think that's a very different part of identity from simply having a particular gender, and a very different question to answer.

Seems to me that all you did was state the definition of being cisgender. People with gender dysphoria are people that don't feel their sex is natural to them. Its what gender dysphoria means.

Don't beat yourself up about it.

I did at that. Doesn't make it any less a part of my identity.
Spelling things out for emphasis is just a habit of mine, it's something I do a lot in my own writing. Having grown up with a disability I don't like to put labels on myself, even when those labels would be perfectly fine.

I can understand enjoying being a human and not wanting to change your species though it actually might be a bit limiting to only roleplay as human characters when roleplaying as an anthro can open up a LOT of doors.

I know a couple others who like to roleplay as humans in anthro or fully-animal worlds.
I mean unless he's the same guy XD

It can sometimes make things extra-interesting for everyone else.

For my own part I never like to use the same character more than once, it's too fun to explore different species' abilities and limitations, or even make up new ones.

Plus given how the internet works, and how animals are in the HPU they wouldn't even be able to tell I'm no longer human.

Tbh, if I was decently sized, (as in not a squirrel or a small breed of cat) and didn’t have much stigma surrounding the species, I’d do it simply because human life sucks and I’d rather be a dog ( ._.)

Eeh, life sucks whatever you are.
Deal with it how you like, but don't expect it to magically get better just because you made a change to how you live it.
