I don't have nearly enough skill to pull this off but, what do you think of the idea to photoshop the last panel to keep the text the same but replace Max with a Furret and replace Grape with something to represent the forumites?

I'm sorry to be that fan, but this comic feels like it's just filler to me. It's like in Order of the Stick in this strip where there's only a cliffhanger because a character complained about a cliffhanger. If Grape had asked for "so many details" in the first or second panel she (and us) would have those details by now.

Just because you heard him the first time doesn't mean half of us didn't not heed him, though granted we're likely to read into it no matter how many times he tells us not to, that's kind of our thing.

I hope we will learn more about Max and Rufus, but it could also be that Grape learns everything offscreen

while i would agree with you if there were an arc going on, by definition, there can be no filler if there's no 'main plot thread' to fill a gap in. the active plot thread, what happens to all the angels, was just resolved and we haven't been given a new one yet, so by definition there can be no filler. not because there wont be slow or off kilter scenes. but because one of the requirements of classifying said scenes as such is absent.

Now that I'm thinking about it that grin looks almost exactly like the one Spongebob gave Squidward that one time and now when I look at it I just hear "You like farm dogs don't you Maxie" I'm surprised that isn't what she said
