Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?

Memory is the key.
Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
I loved the anime Death Note, but 3 hours?! I don't think I could watch a movie for so long, no way...
Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
Well theirs actually 2 movies, one's based on season 1 and "The last name" is based on the others.
But its well worth it for the end.

When I was 12 or 13, I went to see "Titanic" with my mom and one of my friends. My butt fell asleep.Alex wrote:I loved the anime Death Note, but 3 hours?! I don't think I could watch a movie for so long, no way...

The new Chornicles of Narnia:The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. And no, not that part. I cried (the first time I watched it) when Orious went to try and slay the witch...it was manly tears okay?

Marley & Me?
I hated that freaking dog. It was just a dumb "see the large dog get into wacky antics" movie with a little romantic comedy tacked on.
And yet despite that all, the ending... Holy carp. I was fighting back tears hard, and I usually do a good job of stoicism. For all that is wrong with that movie, the ending is unbelievably emotional.

I really need to stop watching the movies in Biomedical Technology class. I think my teacher literally tries her hardest to find touching documentaries that make us bawl our eyes out.
Luckily, it's a class full of girls that are fairly nice, so we can all cry together and don't have to worry.

Not often, but I have to admit that I cried during castaway when Tom Hanks lost Wilson

The Mighty. We just finished it at school and I was like, bawling at the end

So all-in-all, I cry in any movie where the main character and/or the main character's friend dies. Or those movies that it ends with, I will never see you again.
It's harder to be yourself than it is to be anybody else.
Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
People say that I'm too unemotional. I don't really cry at movies anymore, but when I was little, I almost shed a single tear when Littlefoot's mother died in The Land Before Time.
Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
I've only ever cried in one movie, which was Toy Story 3. It was strange how it affected me that much. I've come close in a few movies like Titanic, Saving Private Ryan and The Lion King.
I remember when I was 9, at the end of the school year the teacher put on a movie about Christmas called Jack Frost. That was a challenge because every girl started crying at the end, but if you were a boy you had to hold back every emotion.

I think Toy Story 3 would make me cry too. Once I get to watch it.
Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
I just watched The Shining, the miniseries, the one written by Stephen King, that actually followed the book, not that crappy Jack Nicholson one, and the end makes me cry everytime. It's so sad when Jack redeems himself and sacrifices himself to destroy the Overlook. :C

Even the trailer made me want to cry.

Oh, gosh, what's made me cry...
It's too much to list, really. I'm a sucker for sadness. For one that wasn't listed, though, I'd have to say Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I mean, did no one else here think it sad when Dumbledore died?
Oh, and I've heard most of you mention it at least once. So, as I prepare to be bricked painfully, I shall ask: What's Watership Down?

I remember too many movies where I nearly cried, since I am always able to fight it back all I have to do is to hope nobody talks to me.Pecan wrote:Oh, gosh, what's made me cry...

Because then they could hear my teary voice.
Not good with rather tough/rough friends.
Also, I cried when Dumbledore died in the BOOK >_>
Usually I come close to it when something like "true friendship" is shown in movies, dying characters don´t affect me that much.
Like, when two characters were arguing and then go seperate ways, and in the end, one of them saves the others life ^_^
AND I get sad when cats/dogs die in movies

Me too. I'm usually pretty unaffected by human death, but when animals die...

I'll admit that I cried at the end of Toy Story 3. XDAquablast wrote:I think Toy Story 3 would make me cry too. Once I get to watch it.
The first movie came out when I was four, and I basically grew up with the series. I have very fond memories of those movies. The friend that I once mentioned on the Chat Thread, him and I nearly had every line of that movie memorized when we were little!
I knew Toy Story 3 was the last one. The last ten minutes felt like the ending to my childhood! I went with a group of friends, and I'm just glad I wasn't the only one crying.

Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
The ending of Toy Story 3 didn't even remotely make me cry. It was a very sweet and sentimental scene, yes, but not in a tear-jerking way. At least not to me.

Re: Has a Movie ever made you cry?
Same for me. It was what I had grown up with and had watched with my brother so many times, he'd probably have every line memorised. The third movie sorta drew parallels with my current situation of growing up, going to Uni and stuff like that. Just don't want to leave my childhood behind, hehehe.Beagle wrote:I'll admit that I cried at the end of Toy Story 3. XD

I am still a bit sentimental toward toys... Well, at least I remember being sentimental toward toys clearly.Sleet wrote:The ending of Toy Story 3 didn't even remotely make me cry. It was a very sweet and sentimental scene, yes, but not in a tear-jerking way. At least not to me.
I will have to see it though. It would be funny if a 20 years old like me cried because of toys. XD
... But yeah, I probably won't really cry. I will probably force it down and become silent for the whole duration.

This reminded me of a childrens story (which was a book and a film) called Animal Farm, its about farm animals conducting human faults seen throughout history, childrens stories (that have a particular message) always humbles me.CaptainPea wrote:Watership Down is the story of self-governing bunnies, and if you don't believe me look it up.Pecan wrote:I like how people only looked at the first half of my post, thinking I was kidding about the second part. I do not get choked up over films often, but I do sometimes around death scenes or true love scenes (can't remember which films they were...).
