So... Rufus did die. Heh, well, he was old... Why do I get the feeling this is a Subtle nod to 'Housepets: The Series'?

Wonder what he'd be here? Possibly a warrior class. Also, it's a shame that it never mentioned him dying, maybe receiving a letter that Rufus was dead.

It took me a moment to realize we didn't know Rufus was dead. Either all that fanfiction got to me or I just correlated "Not shown for years and years" with "is dead". This arc seems to be attracting returning characters, old and new, anyways.

All the recent talk about eye colors has me looking for it. Rufus' right eye is a different shade of blue than it used to be.

I don't even want to think about the possibility. Besides. Pretty sure Rick would have said something. Also, you don't bother continuing to evolve the art style if you are just going to do a couple more arcs before stopping, and there was recently an art shift.

I mean, I was saying that this plotline could lead to the end, but it really DOES seem to be building up to that now... but I still don't think that'd be a good idea. Sure, the plotline fits and ending, but we haven't had this plotline long enough for it to be the one meaningful thing that marks the end. I'd be okay with it if there were a decent amount of arcs building up to this but there was really only like, 2? No way this arc in particular is the end, but it does kinda leave the ending window open and available.

Res's scream can be heard from here to Nantucket
before he gets' the full story.
He's going to get a massive pile of great plotting
for his next greatest book
but, for here and the now the plotlines are knotting
as heaven's taking a look...

It took me a bit to remember who the fourth on Joey's team is. I keep forgetting that Squeak is there too.

It is sad that Rufus has Joined the choir invisible, so to speak, but he is in Heaven, and we know it's nice there.

As for Res, I'm looking forward to his reaction when told that these kind of magical shenanigans are common here in BG.

I doubt Rufus will really help Keene, I guess he is more there for Peanut and Grape.
As for the head...well...that is going to be hard to tell, but I place my bet on team Peanut and Grape.

Looks like they're dividing into multiple parties here, huh, and more angels. So it's going to be one of those dungeon crawls where everyone's scrambling for the loot and the DM's messing with the players.

"How come we haven't hit the gelatinous cube yet?"

It's funny. It seems like only now that Rick, along with most of us readers, even remembered Ol' Rufus... And in time to find he's dead from age and chose to bring him back to Help Peanut, Grape and Res.

Still, I feel like this is a reference to Housepets the Series, since it had a moment where Rufus dies from Old Age and later makes a Comeback to help the Living Cast... Which was I think back in 2011-2012 when that Chapter came out. It was pretty far back.

This is turning out to be one of those massive build-up arcs where all the characters gang up and make their dreams come true.

While Res and Rufus are here and i'm extremely happy about it, i can't help but wonder: Where is Max?

Having him absent for an arc normally woudln't bother me, but with this kind of build-up, now i'm starting to wonder...
