[2016/12/09 Practical Joke ]
Title Text: besides, you probably would have liked the space dragon's solution even less.
In her defense, it really is a delicate ritual. You need to hit just right to avoid permanent damage.

Well sometimes violence is the answer.
Also why does this strip remind me of this?

Doesn't that invalidate the warranty?
I can give you a few more seconds
‘cuase you’re all absolutely crazy!
I’ve been dragged back through heck
Today and your moral sense is hazy!
You’ve got ONE final chance, Fox,
To prove that you’re not insane!
Your friend has to prove magic is real…
Did she just whack her upside the brain?
That’s it! When she wakes we go in
And face the wrath of the boss.
If this is the way you uphold the law,
Trust me, Fox, you’ll be no loss.

You so do not like simple solutions, Tarot. You just wanted payback from Sasha's diss :3

I really like how Mungo pouts in the second panel
You can say what you want, but he has a lot of patience.
Now I wonder what will happen, now that Sasha is knocked out.

Cognitive re-calibration, the old fashioned way.
Well, if it worked for Hawkeye...

Well Fox, you only gave her 15 seconds. Not a lot of options.

Well then, I glad Mungo doesn't seem like the "bad guy" anymore.
I'm also glad that all Sasha needed was a good thwack to the head after Fox put his job on the line for her, but also a little disappointed since there was no demon to have a fight with.

Psychological Progress goes "THWACK"! I think I spelled that right...
All right, everyone -- this bonk on the head will probably prove one of three things --
1. Sasha was brainwashed (probably by the obedience school)
2. Sasha was being overtaken by a celestial power
3. Sasha was acting of her own volition and nothing changes with the bonk on the head.
I'm guessing 75% chance it's number one, 20% percent chance two and 5% chance Pete is being evil. Anyone have another possibility at this juncture?

The way Mungo is drawn and the 'I guess' reminds me of the panel kc green drew with gunshow. (Don't have image on hand but I'll assume we know what I'm talking about).

I admit i am confounded at how hitting her with a crystal...... Slab.... will fix anything, but it wouldn't be the first time something unexpected happened XD

That is NOT a Crystal Slab.
It's a
MAGIC Crystal Slab!

>bonk<, not >Thwack<. It's a crystal. Nice, rigid, heavy. Like a cast iron skillet. >Thwack< is the sound of a stick. >Bonk< is the sound of a skillet.
It shoulda been >bonk<!

I never heard a crystal hit a surface before, but from what i read, it would sound similar to being hit in the head with a flat board. I would likely hear more of a "whomp" or "clunk" noise. Also - Thwack is cool.

But that's the sound of a skillet, not the sound of a crystal. They're made of 2 different materials, are shaped differently, and are different densities.
But that begs the question: what sound does a crystal make?

Cute begging Fox.
Thank you for your eternal patience, Mungo.
You think to need only fifteen more seconds?
So Tarot, that's it? That's your ritual?
The hit sounded so hard, it must really hurt.
Let's hope it'll fix Sasha's problem, because usually you don't use simple solutions, Tarot.
I guess that thing got again stuck with another upgrading, so, you found that good use of it.

It's inverse phrenology.
Instead of trying to figure out the bumps on her head, it's much more efficient to just create the bumps you need.

You know Mungo keeps saying that they are in trouble but... well....The only two that know any of what is going on is them. all they have to say is "We were following some possible leads that didn't pan out" and they are both in the clear because the only one to contradict them is someone that appears to be out of there head. Even with the short radio call all he needs to say is "Yeah i was mistaken".

Pete and Dragon are currently in the process of being reborn as powerless mortals that may or may not have any memory of being demigods, aren't they? I think they've been effectively knocked out of any supernatural involvement. For a fair while at least.
Speaking of, is Rick ever going to reveal their reincarnations, or are those two gone from the story for good? Come to think of it, would we even know it's them if they did show up? They probably won't look the same.

Well, I mean, that's what used to help when my old Compaq computer used to act up. Computer giving you trouble? Try giving it a decisive smack, it will solve about 95% of your problems xD

What does? The fact that I hit my computer, or that I still had a fossil for a pc? I'm well aware it can cause damage to hit the PC tower, but I can't say it didn't work for me

The thing is, the celestials exist outside of time. Sure, Pete and Dragon will spend a minimum of sixty years as mortals, but once they're back to demigod status, what's stopping them from coming back to now?

I'm guessing the same thing that would stop them from going back or forward from an infinite number of tomorrows and yesterdays and having an infinite number of temporal clones of themselves in one place and I suddenly taste copper I'm going to stop thinking about this now.

Except that was being prevented by the rules of the game, which are no longer in effect...

You know, the deal only specified that they would have to live as mortals it didn't specify when. it could be today, yesterday or a hundred million years forward or back, we don't know. and like i said in my crazy but fun idea last time, for all we know they could actually be characters we know already and none would know, possibly not even them.
The sad truth is that until Rick tells us one way or another we will just never know.
