So now Keene is going to be stranded on an island for five years only to return with a vendetta to bring down the list of people his father gave him, as the Green Ferret.

Waking up, underwater.
Air bubble; getting shorter.
Thinking cool;
Thinking faster,
Mere seconds from disaster.
Pulling fast, on the frame
Not wondering; no-one’s blame
Swimming hard,
Climbing well
Out of the water’s swell.
New question, what occurred?
New thought; blame blurred
Down or up
Driver gone.
What the heck is going on?

Holy PolandBalls! Someone tried to whack Keene! I bet it's those two twits(You know who..) from before at it again! That or the bloody driver had one too many schnapps or maybe Keene really needed to hire a better driver.. (I never thought I'd say this, but I hope that bloody driver is still in that vehicle,if this was an attempted hit[A murder in which the murderer is paid by another person to commit the act in return for cash. Usually ends with one of or both preps being arrested and tried for the 1st Degree]) Welp..Time to bring out the ol' Sherlock Holmes outfit and get to cracking the case.

Oh my. The chauffeur is missing...
Hm, maybe that's why Keene felt woozy when he entered the water in the Room of Recall...?

And that last panel...

OH GOSH! Some Heavy Rain stuff's going down right now! D: That was literally attempted murder, I mean he may have even been slipped sleeping pills with how he just suddenly knocked out in the flashback. Gonna be honest, I wasn't expecting it to take a dark turn like that, but I like it! This is super interesting. :D

Edit: IT'S EVEN RAINING

Also it's the end of year 8 already?! That year flew by so fast! I feel so old :?

Year 3
Year 4

So Rick, was this planned or is it just a funny coincidence ?
Year six

Yeah, Im going with planned
Year 7
And the gag continues
And the gag is broken after 5 consecutive years

Okay, to be frank, we need a list of people who would want Keene dead so we could figure this wee problem out...Exactly who the blazes wants Keene deader then dead..

Thomas and Celia Milton are the first ones I would think of as the one who would order a hit. If that's the most likely case, the other ferrets are in danger as well.

Thomas and Celia are the obvious first suspects here. I think if that's the case, we might get a confirmation soon - the car'd hit the surface just a few moments before Keene woke up. While I'm sure the duo isn't present anywhere around, whoever was directly responsible for the "accident" might still be close.

Also, I hope that piece of paper in the first panel isn't what remained of the letter to Fox...

Anyone else notice this is EXACTLY the same scene as what happened with Charlie in the movie, 'All Dogs Go To Heaven'?
Same care off the end of the pier. Same person comes back in said car from heaven. It's a really cool homage to the movie.

Having people that want you dead is one thing, but when Keene's own chauffeur is going to be trying to stage car accidents to kill him...

I think it may be time to make another leap for animal rights and have one of the wolves get a driver's license, because right now it's looking like Keene doesn't have many humans he can trust.

Or maybe there needs to be a trustworthy human character introduced (who actually stays human) to stick with the animals and give Keene more direct help from the human side of the aisle.

On a side note, has it really been eight years? Wow.

Do you mean to say Lindberg, Ryan, Jeff, Jeeves, and the Sandwichs aren't trustworthy? O_o

Nothing wrong with those people, but they're all more side characters that we don't see very much or know all that well. I was thinking a human semi-main character that can have a little more to their character description than a single paragraph. Though, admittedly, any one of those you listed would be excellent candidates to step up and take more visible roles. Having Jeeves become sort of an Alfred character for Keene would be pretty cool. He's British, he could foil another death plot on Keene by revealing he's ex-SAS or MI6 or something.

Either the staff was so fed up with Keene as to try and get rid of him, or he was getting way closer to his political goals, and it was time to stop him.
Either way, congrats, Rick: This was one of the most intense action scenes ever! :o :o :o

Wait, so what's up with Breel then?
I mean, I caught up on all the comics and know who the character is, but they didn't seem like anyone TERRIBLY special compared to the other supporting cast. Am I missing something here that is causing lots of people to fall in love with this heavenly fur ball? ;P

(sorry, I am so horrendously out of touch with the events of this forum the last 6 months :'D What is even a housepets) *shot*

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Keene and Breel seemed to be attracted to each other, with all the blushing, hand-holding and tail-hugging, as well as totally accidental "slinky" phone background. Some people loved that, others didn't for various reasons (for example because Breel's in afterlife, or cause he's a guy).

Well, this is an unexpected surprise! Yet it makes sense, Keene is trying to make changes to his world that would really shake up a lot of societies and that's bound to make some people, powerful people, upset. This does look like a hit: Keene suddenly dozing off argues for him being drugged shortly before the car was sent in the water. The driver being missing also does not bode well: if he's someone directly hired by the Milton's then Keene needs to have some of his own staff investigated and clean house. If the guy was an employee of some kind of chauffeur service then it's police raid time as soon as Keene is secured and has time to talk to his lawyers.
