Mouse World sounds like a wonderful place to visit.

Also, Spo and Squeak are adorable.

At of all the species of the series, the mice probably had best design improvement, in my opinion.

Spo is shorter than Squeak? I honestly never noticed.

This is why I'm dating a rabbit! So many mice in this universe need step-stools just to look me in the eye!

Calm down, Mickey. You're only about 5 inches tall.

That's nearly half the size of a ruler!

It's established that Spo is short for a mouse in general.
which is why it's funny that Squeak says he's into taller girls. he kinda has no choice.

Hmm, now that I think about it, relationships between mice must be hard seeing that everyone around them is probably closely related to them... So poor Spo, the one girl in the neighborhood that isn't his sister is into taller men, which is just the opposite of what Spo is!

Well, Squeak, not the best choice of words. So, who else was suddenly reminded of the beginning scene of The Rescuers: Down Under?

The waiters wander without a hurry
as shoppers rest their feet,
Scarce knowing that, close by
is a sight that's not to be beat.
This is a place where a dropped fork
leads you to Mice in the café.
And then you'll have to choose
whether you flee or if you stay.
A tiny world of pure magic,
starring the greats; Spo and Squeak.
Two friends out for a quick thimble
One suave, both sweet, one smooth, both sleek.

SPO IS UNUSUALLY SHORT.

Well everyone we've done it, we've hit the maximum level of adorableness here.
Please Rick make this into another mini arc, we need more Spo & Squeak in our lives!

Judging from her previous appearances, I thought she was into guys with bigger paws, not taller.

Also I agree we need more Spo and Squeak! :D

OK, I have never seen a thimble up close and I have a query, would not the liquid poor out of the holes or is it just a pattern used to increase gripping strength.
Am I the only one who thinks of the borrowers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118755/) when I see this strip?

I think it's just a pattern. My grandmother use to do a lot of sewing back in the day, and she owned like 3 thimbles. Granted, I might be wrong, it's been years since I've seen her sew anything or her sewing kit for that matter (was too young at the time really care remembering where stuff that wasn't mine were kept).

Also, quick question, after the "Wolf's Clothing" arc, I've been feeling rather self-conscious about how the characters' names are pronounced. How do you guys pronounce Spo's name? :?

I always pronounced it s-p-oh, though I have been wrong in regards to pronouncing written names many times in the past and present. I still call Bino, Beano, I guess its because I have read a lot of my dads old Beano comics.

Now there's a waiter mouse in the bottom right hand side of the first panel, I wonder what the mice use as currency for payment.

A thimble is typically used to protect the fingertips from needles when sewing. As such, it doesn't actually have any holes - kind of defeats the purpose. So, what appears to be holes here is most likely just a close-up design pattern.

I used to call him S-P-O, but I stopped because I realized that it's spelled "Spo", if it was S-P-O it would probably be spelled SPO.
Also Fido said that "Spo" only sounds like a half a name, like it's cut off, and let's be honest, S-P-O sounds like more of a name than "Spo" does.

Thimbles have a pattern of indentations that are just the right size to catch the end of a sewing needle so you can push the needle through multiple layers of cloth instead of pushing it through your finger.

You don't do that more than once.

Also, come on, doesn't anyone sew any more? What do you do if you lose a button?

*takes the link to this forum* Ha! (but it's not a stereotype)

It's funny, but with the way they both worded things just now, they could potentially become an item. I just think it would be a shame if we didn't get enough history on Spo now since he's become alot more interested since he met Squeak, and not because she's a girl. Just in the mouses in general.

Yeah poor Spo, I don't know if Squeak wanted to tease him or if that was really a bad choice of words

You may only click this link if you, too, are into taller girls.
Well, my most recent girlfriend was a 6'2" Farmer's Daughter. I'm about 5"11; do the math.

Still, wouldn't the water taste like metal? When I touch that type of metal too much, my hands smell like it until I wash them. It probably wouldn't be an ideal substance for drinking cups.

Thimbles are made of a number of materials, including brass or copper, steel or chromed steel, silver, and silver plate over steel. I'm sure they can find one that won't impart an unpleasant taste to the water.

Really nice see the two mice together. :) Maybe a chance for their shipping is now closer? :P I understand you, Spo, but you can't rule the heart. Then, Joey is a great dog. ;) Yeah, what a bad example, poor Spo.
Nice, a mice café under an humans café. :D Oh, yeah, mice world is adorable, in many ways. Then, how bad would it be without the existence of thimbles and spools? ;)

yes, but my machine doesn't have anything that looks like that on it. also how in the world would you get you finger under the foot in the first place? that gap is pretty small.

Also I've been spelling it out ever since he explained his family's naming thing, which comes out kinda like Espio now that I think about it...

thimbles were around long before sewing machines, they help when hand sewing things. it's hard to make sure the needle doesn;t hit your finger while you're pushing it through the fabric.

I also pronounce Spp "Spəp".

(and also established that he's small for a mouse, right there in his introduction)
