[ Locate Planet Bomb ]

the unfinished basement OF THE GODS

I'm pretty sure we all saw this coming. Also, I told y'all Spirit Dragon was the villain! Now she's killed everyone you ever cared about (and ever would have cared about) and I'm sure someone will still stick up for her. *giggles*

The Great Kitsune looks cute when he's annoyed. Also, check out Pete, the cutie. :3

Plotting plans and outlining rules
down below, in the Fox's den,
the group of Kitsune, Dragon
and Pete as the preening Hen.
Kit explains why you can't modify
when a planet cracks under the strain.
Pete knows this; I bet it was him
who first tried it and collected the gain?
Or did he just win a point in the game?
An argument over protocol and rules?
If he knows the game better than them,
is he the victor and them the fools?

On the level of appearance, kitsune is still my favorite of the known heavenly order entities. Cerberus takes a good second.

Getting to go to heaven is good, being forced to find out if you get to go there is not. Any number of the people killed in that way probably also have things they want to, and should be able to do before they die.

okay, of course that was just an explanation of what could go wrong should Draggie use that...tiny modification.
I am EXTREMELY scared of Dragon right now.
Also, smug Pete is adorable.

Im with you bro honestly. Its gotta be just an artistic rendering of GK's reason why that spell is not good.

Pete IS a bit cute when smug.

Foxes are adorable by default.
I agree, though interestingly they are also my top two for agreement with on a personality scale.

I kinda saw this coming:
Obbl wrote:Rick is wrapping up this plot and then creating a new "jumping-on point" which anyone with no previous understanding of the comic's story could jump into and be fine. Then a few months later he posted this on twitter:
Rick Griffin wrote:Okay I've resolved the very last thing I was stuck on for the cosmic arc of Housepets. It was actually pretty simple . . . you'll see
Though in all fairness, I thought only the existing cast was gonna get obliterated, not the whole planet.

Obviously Peanut is secretly the greatest celestial being in the universe. How else do you explain his ability to read books insanely fast?

Housepetting
Blowing up the Universe
With the Ga-lactic Nerds
In their fine shirts.
Housepetting
Things will never be the same
As the Nerds roll their dice
Trying to win their game.

Ladies and Gentleman.....The Great Kitsume

Now you see Dragon you cannot do it, cannot do it, cannot do it
You see Dragon, you cannot do it, cannot do that, Babe.

And now....Spirit Dragon

But we always break the laws of physics, laws of physics, laws of physics,
We always break the laws of physics, laws of physics, Kin.

Ok, I'll stop now.

I'm reminded of the following dialogue for some reason.

"So, Tick, can you destroy the Earth?"
"Egad, I hope not! That's where I keep all my stuff!"

Loved today's comic. The way the earth being destroyed looks so neat and detailed. Looks like she casted a hurricane spell that just got out of hand?

Also, What is a detection spell? I never understood that terminology in D&D.

Didn't see that coming...I thought they were fighting somewhere in the celestial world.

Come to think about it, was it Tarot who cast that planet-destroying spell?(Though technically it was the Dragon's fault.)

Let's hope it was just a fictional instance Kitsune came up, otherwise Haven might be overpopulated...

Why else would Dragon have a HUGE crush on him?

Also, I love how typical Dragon's teenage behaviour is:

It's not my fault the world would blow up, it's in the rules to do this! :P

Actually, couldn't you do exactly this in Dungeons and Dragons using a low level "locate city" spell and a modifier that did ice damage based on the range of the spell it modified?

When I saw the first panel just after the comic loaded, I thought the exploding earth was a Brethren Moon.

On second glance, I thought some wise guy had been clowning around with a Planetcracker, a Blackhole generator, the Blacklight Virus (I know that's Magma, but it looks like that virus.), a Nuke and tossed in Michael J. Caboose for a good measure.

Now... I'm not sure if I can trust Dragon now. I mean, I already had a low level of trust for the Cosmic Nerds, but to actually use an infinite detection spell and turn it into an infinite destruction spell?

As Zecora so kindly put it:

"Have you Gone mad!?"
