Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
apologies for my absence this month, my priorities have been elsewhere (trying to start a buisness, and some of the prep work is time consuming)
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

That's cool.
Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But [The LORD] said, “Yes, you did laugh.” - Genesis 18:15 (NIV).
Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Great to have you back, and good luck with with the business! Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out with it.
Love me right now! Done.

I'm going on vacation for 3 weeks starting tomorrow. I'll have my tablet with me so I'll still post, plus if you need me urgently you can always get hold of me by getting Render or Serence to text me. Just wanted to give you all a heads-up in case I vanish for a few days though. ^^

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
im honestly considering leaving. i've gotten used to rping with a couple groups on discord and the fact that i can do there in an hour what takes close to a year here is immensely frustrating.
lately im finding i've forgotten the plan i had or have lost interest by the time everyone replies more often than not...

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
I can only say that I enjoy RPing with you here. The games you create are so well put together, and your characters are some of the most interesting in BoH because you make them so much different from other characters.Buster wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 7:32 pm im honestly considering leaving. i've gotten used to rping with a couple groups on discord and the fact that i can do there in an hour what takes close to a year here is immensely frustrating.

I understand it takes a long time for these RPs to go places, but I love JSA and I personally am looking forward to when Rua and Phoebe reunite...
If you really want to leave, that's your choice and your right to do so... But I can say I would greatly miss playing with you. I always look forward to what you create.

Like others have said, we would honestly love for you to stay, it's a shame if you would leave but we respect your choices.

No one has posted in Sunset Plateau since March. Shall we keep trying to save it or let it die?
Does anyone new want to join and help save it?

Noooo! Zachary! (I'll have to have him transfer somewhere...)

I suppose I could try joining it (technically again), but that's going to take some reading to have an idea of what the rough style it is.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Probably hasn't changed much since you left. It's a slice of life RP in the Housepets world with a colony of red pandas living in a village in the woods and a pack of wolves living in the woods but not in the village. Currently it's December 1 in game and the characters are either playing in the snow or at the library.

I do want to join and help with the RP's revival, but I don't know if I should considering I appear to be a massive jinx ^^"

I am happy to announce that after nearly a month of recovery after my eye surgery, I can finally see clearly enough to return to my RPs!

Well, hello. I havn't been around here in years, and I thought I'd say hi when I popped by...
I might return to this, I've been thinking, but I'm not sure weather that's a good idea or not.

Hurry for successful surgeries. Havin done the cataracts bit a few years back, I have some idea of what you have had to endure.CyberDragon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:08 pm I am happy to announce that after nearly a month of recovery after my eye surgery, I can finally see clearly enough to return to my RPs!

I've always thought the ideas you bring forth were interesting, it's just that... you've always seemed to vanish for a time after. I'm never sure if it's because you lost interest or if something has taken your ability to get on away.
Love me right now! Done.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
The first time was because I lost acess to stuff and then forgot about this place for a while, the second time was because nothing was really going well and I kind of gave up. So... uh, yeah, my bad on that second time ^^'
Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
All I can do is say sorry if I said anything that discouraged you. I try not to criticize often because I:
1. Don't know the full plan with things when it comes to other players' characters.
2. Am not the best at being 100% clear with what I mean. (English being an ambiguous language not withstanding.)
3. Am not GM in most games, and don't have real clearance on what does and does not go.
That said, if you do decide to stick around in this section, there's the PMD one that you had a fun idea for a character with that didn't get to see light. I'm sure there's other games that might like the extra player too.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Which one was that? Lol
Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Veil.
The character you submitted was Kabus. I know I had parts I disagreed with (but didn't object to) in the character sheet, but I do think a ghost/fairy-type would have been a fun addition.
Of course, you might not have interest in playing a character you never put on the ground. Whatever path you decide on, you'll hopefully have a good time.

Ah yeah, I don’t really remember that character lol. If I was gonna come back I would try to go slow and see if I could do Roux, probably my favorite oc in any of these games. Maybe tribble.Leafolawl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:46 am Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Veil.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Hi all. Sorry I've been slow lately! I've just moved house 110km/70 miles to a new town and a new job so that's kept me occupied for the last couple of weeks. I should be back in business now though!
I'm now working as a zookeeper/tour guide which is soooooo much better than my old retail job!
Have a photo I took of one of my new "colleagues" to make up for my slowness of late.

No, this was the first time in five years. It just takes a while to get everything organised and moved.
