Title Text: Yes, it is literally a wall of text between panels 2 and 3. Get your tl;drs ready

"I mean, it's such a small detail!"

Well I guess that's a better answer than "You never asked!"

That's really kind of a big detail to not talk about until now.

so Fido didn't even know where she was born? she never even off-handedly mention that she spent her kittenhood outside of the US?

or was Fido just not paying attention?

This just keeps getting better and better.

Of course I sympathize with Sabrina, and Jata to some extent, but I'm really feeling bad for Fido! It's never fun being the odd man out.

Really that whole thing is a lot weirder to not bring up at all, then her kittenhood friend and the whole eternal love thing.

Just one letter away from casting calling his nation Firaga.

And that's hardly a TLDR moment, Rick. It's more like a smothering the fourth wall moment. X3

First expression of Sabrina is the best expression of Sabrina. Also perfect for get-away topics.

Not exactly what I would call "uninteresting." I would think "awkward" would be the more correct term. But hey, when a king closes the borders, you don't exactly think you'll see your childhood friend anytime soon. Now I'm wondering what exactly her owner did to anger the king.

Fido's too oblivious in the first panel that it make it too amusing. I think that wall of text broke him. XD

Is this a random Ralph cameo or will he be deeply involved in this arc? Place your bets now!

"I thought we would never see each other again!"
"I thought the spears would kill us!"

I think it's a random Ralph cameo, but we'll soon find out. ;)

I wonder how Jata will take it when he finds out Fido and Sabrina are (current) lovers? So much to come! xD

wow, just wow....

I actually don't have any words for this... it was a bad move by Sabrina to not mention it to her dog-boyfriend (it seems, that she likes other company than "normal cats" [he is over twice the size!]). She proposed to the leopard eternal love... now she has to deal with it, for not telling.

My thoughts about Ralph, since he is a German Shepard... he is aware of his surroundings, he will talk with Fido about it... and yes, there will be tears...

Sorry, Sabrina, but as of now you are the bad gal here. It's not that you hid a minor detail to him, and he's going to several lengths just to stay with you, you owed him somebit of truth.
Fido is the forgiving kind of guy, so I know he'll make up with you...but girl must you EARN that forgiveness

Wow, Sabrina has surpassed King's story in a single strip. She surely has to be gifted to tell a long story short with such quality.

And Fido in last panel seems to be suffering a collapse. Too much information to process.
RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:so Fido didn't even know where she was born? she never even off-handedly mention that she spent her kittenhood outside of the US?

Yeah, that's suspicious. Is Rick trying to say that their relationship is purely physical?
GeckoZY wrote:Is this a random Ralph cameo or will he be deeply involved in this arc? Place your bets now!
Well, he's been suspecting of them recently (at least that's what it seems) , so I would put my bet on him without hesitation.

Why you say that? If you ask me, Fido is as guilty as her for never having been interested on her past. Please, he don't even knew where she had born, what should I think of him then?

Way before I met her
she was born in far Valetta
in the Mediterranean sea

Her dad was an explorer;
into Africa he implored her
to see what he could see.

The prince she then did meet
and, smitten, she did greet
to show how she could be.

They danced through the night
until the wrong one did dad fight
and was thrown out by decree.

She never told of this, her past,
and hoped the illusion would last...
She only comes up to his knee!

She could have told her story
of all her young, African, glory...
and stop the comeback hitting me!

Fido, to his defense, took for granted that Sabrina was born AT LEAST in the US, and the fact that he had never asked about her past just means that he trusted her to the point of ignoring his training as a cop dog and treating her as his beloved one, not as a prime suspect or what!
But what trust did she SHOW when she just decided to keep EVERYTHING of her life from him?
I stand my case
Oh, and by the way: what ELSE could have she hidden? Did her Dad's job end with Feraga or did she happen to have some more adventure before he settled in the Gardens? Any particular connection with Henry Milton? At this point, poor Fido really doesn't know her -and HE is risking his career and social life for the love of her. He deserved better, don't you think?

Sabrina - "I hope you're not too crushed, we can still be friends"

Jata - "A rampaging horde of gorgeous over-charged girls were just kissing my feet because I'm tall and have great abs....I'm sure I'll be fine!"

You just know this whole thing is going to get blown out of proportion so it's probably going to go one of two ways.

1 - Fido goes to Joey and borrows his catsuit
2 - Sabrina pretends Max is her boyfriend

Or perhaps

"I wanted to surprise you on your next birthday"
"I didn't think we were that close yet"
"Have you seen Last King Of Scotland"
"I thought he'd be dead by now"
"I live with a soothsayer and a dragon, it's kind of a big distraction"
"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard"
"Suburban life sucks, it was all I had to keep me sane!"

I dont know why, but I have this feeling that tells me that Sergeant Ralph somehow already knows about Fido´s and Sabrina´s relationship, I dunno ... All I´m saying is that if in some point of this arc the releationship is revealed and Ralph is like "I already know" I wouldnt be THAT surprised. I know I might be wrong, I mean I know I´m probably wrong (I´ve never been accurate about guessing what is going to happen next in any HP arcs) but it´s a thought I have been thinking ... am I the only one with this feeling ?

Please, you can't expect people to spit their whole life right off the bat if you don't ask beforehand. As far as I know that's not how people socializes.
And just because he trust in her it's not an excuse to not being interested in her life. I mean, these are the kind of things that come out naturally in a regular conversation in a couple. So either they don't converse too much or then I don't want to know what kind of weird talks they tend to have. :?

And about the second matter, yeah, Fido is in a horrible situation. But love is love and you can't choose who you fall in love with. Besides he is not a special case. It's probable that everyone in a relationship of this kind are forced to choose between love or social life (Peanut even confirmed it on a strip). That happened to Joey and he chose to stay with Squeak. What would Fido choose? Love or respect? That's what I think we'll find out in this arc.

Well this certainly is one of the most information-efficient strips. It just answered all of their backstory questions in a single panel. That saved us a lot of suspense, now onward to more suspense!

'Right off the bat'?? Oh yes, as if they'd been together for a week or so. But you are right on one thing: They definitely do not really converse with each other.
Love and respect don't exclude each other! In fact, with one comes the other. Fido has respected Sabrina's privacy (and he's taking risks for her!) and DESERVED to be given a fair amount of information from her! When you love someone, you don't start prying, you expect honesty. She. has. been. honest. NOT!
But as I said before, he's the forgiving kind of dog, I'm sure he won't let this accident kill the best thing of his life. But you can't expect him to trust blindly her from now on.

That is strange, I think that saying where you are born is something that you can mention somewhen in a relationship. Especially when it is somewhere extraordinary.
I would rate Fido that he will pay attention to if such things where mentioned - his name isn't Homer. Image
