Re: Art Thread
Is it just me or does it look like this is scaled down a bit vertically? O_o It looks somewhat odd.
As for the drawing, thanks xD Though the anatomy of the feet is incorrect O_o(not fully anthro) was that intentional or a mistake(of memory or drawing) One suggestion of improving it would be to smooth out the nose and muzzle a bit. (more of in general) Looks a bit too rectangular to me. Otherwise it's pretty good. I like it.
(and you actually got the tail wrong. xD The tip is a lighter grey.
Deleted what post? O_o I didn't delete anything. It's still there.Zander wrote:

Re: Art Thread
Well it just seemed like you were implying it when you corrected every detail of it :|
this is what i understood in my simple thinking:
Hi im not perfect.
i know your not perfect can you draw something?
Sure.
Heres my nonperfect piece of art!
Why isn't it perfect?
because i already said it wasn't perfect.

Re: Art Thread

I would like to know the same thing Shyanne.. I can't seem to make it work either.
Re: Art Thread
higher resolution - more detail. Keep in mind that more dpi means more detail, so if you have a smudge then you will be able to see it :>

Re: Art Thread
Do you scan pencil or ink lines? Pencil lines, unless they're very refined, will always be a little rough, but you can still darken them. If you do that, it sort of ends up looking like a jittery pen, and I personally think it's a neat effect that livens up a drawing. Plus I always like my drawings better when I don't ink themShyanne wrote:hey does anyone want to give me suggestions/hints on how i can make my lineart crisper/cleaner? i downloaded inkscape but i have no idea how to use it or what i should do with it..does raising the dpi on my scanner make my lines clearer?
I've never used Inkscape, but if you can find a window or module that will let you change the brightness and contrast, that can be helpful in making nicer looking lineart. Fiddle with those levels, but you'll want to bring up both the brightness (to bring the paper closer to pure white) and contrast (which will help separate the line's value from the paper and bring it closer to black).
Also, desaturate the lineart, because pencils and pens have a lot of complex colors which become way more apparent on a screen, and simplifying that to black and white does worlds to make it look cleaner.

Re: Art Thread
man if that's true then my scanner totally sucks..what do you outline in? what kind of ink? See when i scan in black and white there are a bunch of marks and spots everywhere! so i scan in greyscale and then i have to run it through some filters.. and still even then my lineart is uneven..tho i think my pen is dying on me..Zander wrote:The drawing of Vespier is the exact thing that comes out of my scanner. I outline in ink, using a micron pen..well anyway I'm not gonna post this next picture here..because well it's a babyfur one. so don't enter if babyfurs/diapers freak you out. http://ranmafan1.deviantart.com/art/a-r ... -197847042

Re: Art Thread
(hardly counts as art again, but oh well >_>)
I partially vectorized a drawing i found on nick'sDA that i happened to like.
I originally intended to entirely recreate it, and make a wallpaper from it.(because it's cute :3) But dunno. maybe later. :V

Re: Art Thread
It's pretty much just mindless tracing, then exporting a medium-res bitmap and using inkscape's "trace bitmap" feature to revectorize it, cheaply simulating brush dynamics. :V
