Here it is! Side Character's background/Side stories thread
First up, Well, Midnight!
PLEASE NOTE: All and any events are based off the Fan-Fic: Changing Time

-Midnight's Past-
~Part 1~
Three small kittens played with each other staying within a cardboard box tall enough to keep them inside. They giggled and and pawed at each other. The box sat on at small coffee table in the corner of the room. Patients and Doctors passed the box and entered the door next to the coffee table. The box had 'Kittens, see Receptionist' written on it in a bold sharpie pen. One man walked to the desk where the receptionist sat typing on a keyboard plugged into a computer glowing on her smiling face.
"May I help you?" She asked looking at the tall man standing near her desk.
"Yes, What's with that box over there?" He asked gesturing at the box.
"Those are my kittens. I can't take them all and their Mom died when the youngest one was born." She said glancing at the box full of kittens with a small frown.
"Oh,I'm-" Before the man could finished a woman walked next to him.
"How much are they?" She asked.
"Oh, free." The receptionist said smiling slightly.
"Oh! Can I take one?" She asked as the man walked away uninterested.
"Sure! What one would you like?" The Receptionist asked standing up and walking to the box.
"May I have the youngest?" The lady said taking a few steps before standing next to the box.
"Sure,She's the mellowest."
The receptionist reached in and pulled out a small black kitten with a white underbelly. She handed the kitten. The lady cautiously held the kitten, cradling it.
"That's good. My husband isn't a very big cat person." The lady said rocking the cat gently in her arms.
"What are you going to name her?"
The lady smiled.
"I think...Midnight. Yes, Midnight Christiana..."

And so it begins. Midnight as a kitten is mellow, huh? Lucky woman...

I wonder what happened to her litter mates.

Well, Since I don't plan to write about their life in the Current story, I'll just tell you here.
One stayed with her owner(The receptionist), and the oldest is Sabrina Which, isn't my character so I don't really have the authority to say.

Please say that Midnight and Streak meet as kittens. I want to see Streak as a kitten. I know he isn't really a cat, but a kitten Streak would be awesome!

~Part 2~
-Mansion---
The four year old black kitten ran through the hallway quickly, looking behind her every few seconds to see if she was she was being followed. Her feet patted against the expensive red rug. She turned at the nearest corner and hide behind her mother's leg who was walking down the same hallway. Her mother chuckled.
"My Midnight, what got into you?" She said as she picked the kitten up.
"It's Daddy...I was sleeping on his computer and now he's mad..." Midnight said putting her small paws around her mom's neck.
The Mother chuckled.
"Aww, it's okay, I'm here."
"I love you mommy." Midnight said squeezing her tight.
"I love you too,Midnight."
---Three days later---
Midnight was curled up on the couch sleeping happily. Her ears perked up when she heard the faint sound of a knock on the door.
"Moms home!" Midnight said stretching and slipping off the couch.
Her father walked to the door from the kitchen doorway which was left of the couch. He opened it waving a arm toward Midnight as a sign telling her to stand back. Midnight stumbled backwards not wanting to get hit and sat back looking at the door.
"Yes?" Her father said keeping his hand on the doorknob.
Midnight tilted her head slightly. She could only hear what her father said. The door was also opened in such a way she couldn't see who he was talking to.
"What?....She's out....Yes....What?!.....Is she okay?!.....Really?I'll be there in a minute!"
He shut the door and ran to the coat closet angrily.
"Daddy? Are you o-" Midnight started before being interrupted.
"Shut up!" He yelled pulling a coat out roughly.
She jumped as her ears flew back.
"D-D-Daddy?" She asked shaking.
"She's in the hospital!" He said in rage.
"M-Mommy?" She asked tears filling her eyes.
"Yes, you idiot! She's dying in a hospital bed from a car crash and it's your fault!!" He yelled pulling his coat one and running to the door.
"B-B-But why my fault?" Midnight was crying hard at this point.
"She was picking up your stupid cat food!!!" He ran out in the driveway and drove off quickly.
Midnight laid on the floor shaking as tears dripped from her eyes. She never saw her mother since that morning.

Well, that guy sure likes to talk out of his posterior. He must be a dog person!

I feel so bad for Midnight right now. Someone needs to comfort her.

You know, for starting out as a joke, Midnight has become quite the character!

She has such a tragic past, Hopper! I hope her next home is a good one.

~Part 3~
---9 cat years later---
Midnight laid curled up on the couch.
"Midnight!!!!" Her Dad yelled from his office.
Her ears went back and she slipped off the couch yawning. She started to walk to her Dad's office. She walked to the doorway that lead to the hallways. As she passed the expensive paintings that hung on the wall of the hallways she looked down at her shoulder where a fresh new bruise laid. It wasn't the only bruise that was on her body, but it was the newest, so it hurt the most. She stopped at the end of the hallway and opened the door to her fathers office.
"Daddy?" She said ears back as far as they can go.
"Go get the mail." He said not looking away from his work that he slowly finish at his desk in the middle of the room.
"But Daddy, it's to ea-" she said trying to weasel her way out of taking the long walk down the street to the mailbox.
"Now. And stop calling me that..." He said using a strict voice.
She sighed before talking.
"Yes, sir...."
She closed the door and start to walk to the door. It took five minutes to walk down to the mailbox. She hated the walk. The whole walk to it was uphill and tiring. The walk back wasn't so bad. The worst part about it was a small crack in the pavement that she tripped over every time no matter how hard she tried no to. She finally got to the mailbox. She slipped the key in and turned it unlocking the box. Midnight opened the small door and, just as she though, there wasn't any mail yet. She sighed and turned about to start to walk back.
"Hey, Midnight!" A voice said from behind.
Midnight turned and smiled seeing her best friend running to her.
"Anna!" Midnight said smiling.
They hugged and stood at the mailbox talking.
"Midnight, Where's your collar?" Anna asked.
"Oh, Dad took it." Midnight said looking down slightly.
"Oh no! Didn't your Mom give you that? Why did he take it?"
"Yeah she did...He said I didn't need it because no one loves me." Midnight tried to hide her sadness.
"Aw, lots of people love you!" Anna said putting a hand on Midnight's shoulder.
Midnight tensed up as Anna touched her bruise. Anna's ears perked up and she removed her hand.
"Aw, He hit you again, Didn't he?!"
"It wasn't very hard this time..."
"Midnight! You need to get out of there! He doesn't love you! He's using you as a slave that he can hit when he's angry!!!"
"But-" Midnight tried saying before getting interrupted.
"Midnight, You deserve a REAL life." Anna said softly.
"But where would I go?"
"Anywhere!"
"...Well I could go to your hou-"
"No, Farther."
"But-But-But I wouldn't see you anymore!"
"Don't worry about me...I'm fine. Maybe you could even find a nice male." Anna said winking.
"Maybe..." Midnight blushed slightly.
"Promise me you'll leave?"
"Okay...I Uh, guess I could leave...I'll miss you though..."
"Don't. Now I got to go, I'm leaving to my grandparents for dinner." Anna said hugging Midnight once more before running off where she came from.

~Part 3~
-A month later-
Midnight laid her back on the wall of the dark alley, staying in the shadows not wanting to be seen. She was unheathly thin and filthy. She slyly watched a scruffy gray mutt walk from the entrance of the alley in the dark night. He was smiling and carried a plastic bad full of variouse items.
"Scamp." She said stepping out of the shadows.
"Oh! Midnight! What a pleasant suprise!" He said grinning.
"Oh please, dont act like you wanted to see me..." Midnight said looking down.
"I've got something for you." Scamp said reaching into his bag.
Midnight sighed and showed him her plastic bag full of cans.
"Oh, Very good, Your meal for the day!" Scramp said pulling a small box of very little trashed food.
Midnight's ears perked up and she smiled.
"You got something decent for me this week." She said reaching out and grabing it.
"Oh Yes, And thank you for the cans. The puppies will enjoy the food I can get with the money I will use."
Midnight rolled her eyes and walked out of the alley and toward where she would sleep. She was suddenly stopped after walking for five minutes. It was an older cat. Male, orange with stripes.
"Oh my-" She said before he grabbed her food.
"Look, Uh, Tom," She said stumbling over her words.
"Im taking it." Tom said smiling.
"But thats my first meal in two days!" She said trying to grab it from him.
Tom elbowed Midnight in the stomach and she fell back in pain. She let out a loud moan. Tom laughed.
"Goodnight,Midnight." He said hitting Midnight's face with his fist.
She feel back laying agaisn't the sidewalk. Her eyes closed and she didn't awake untill the morning.

Alhough Tom too would deserve a nice lesson, at least he's 'justified' by the fact he's a stray, and street life makes any pet a tough one, or a dead one. Midnight may have been lucky, or very resourceful, but Tom is more the product of his environment.
Midnight's former owner was simply a vermin.
