This is one quick question. The Kitsune tells King that he will get a reward after the "game" is done. Is the reward Pete leaving or is it going to turn up later in the comic?

I was just asking because I couldn't tell myself (maybe because I didn't listen very carefully, or misread it) so I thought I could get some answers. But if he does get a reward, it is probably something magical. I have an idea of what it might be, but I think if I say it it might happen and this would spoil it.

The Kitsune said that he would get a reward at that time as well as one when the game ended. The reward at that time was Pete leaving, and he will get a reward that has not yet been named at the end of the game. If you ask me, the reward at the end of the game will be the choice of whether or not to be human again.

If Pete loses the game, he should leave King alone as per rules. That would imply King being trasformed automatically back into human, since Joel was transformed to be a pawn in the first place.
So, yes, the reward could be his choice either to live again as a dog, or to start as a new man with a new life and a dog of his own, for example -a 'reset' if you want.

ONE award for King, as payback for dealing with Pete's mistreatment, was his own emancipation. You know, living with the wolves and being a free pet.

His other reward, that comes at the end of the game, we do not know about. Basically, we don't have any idea, and can only speculate about it. To further that, we have no idea when the end of the game would come; would that be at the end of the comic overall? Sooner? We donno!

I think I'll agree with copper and Challenger01 and go a little farther. Maybe he realizes "AFTER" he's human that his life's sucks, and somehow turns back. (this was the idea I said in my last post, but since people already said the first part of the variation in my head, aw what the heck)

• King can choose to be turned back into a human.
• King gets revenge on Pete.
• Any kind of combination of the above.
