I'm gonna be honest, I didn't like this strip at all. Not just because it's not in English, but I don't GET it.

Read the translation... Well, the sort of translation.
I saw this one quite a bit ago.

Yeah, this is a major case of deja vu.

It's Asian humor, yay!
CaptainPea wrote:I mean what kind of schedule; how many days a week. This past week we got one every day, but there might not be enough guest strips to sustain that kind of pace.
My bet is on everyday. I doubt that Rick expect himself to be sick for that long, and I think there are still at least 5 strips or more not yet shown.

Edit: According to Darknightclaws in the comments its says this:

Unfortunately, the font he used is really blurry; it’s hard to make out a lot of words, and he didn’t post it on his other sites. I can try and translate to the best of my abilities:

Panel1:
With the special event going on in the park, there’s a lot of people today… but since we’re here, there must be something important going on…
On that note… there are some pretty note-worthy people here…

Panel2:
If you ask me, especially these guys… They got here at 6:00 and have just been sitting there like that… Those lazy bums (lit. translated: “Those bums with nothing to do”)…
I’m getting the feeling that they’re part of some “no smoking” campaign… A yellow hoodie with a “no smoking” mark… Seems like a”no smoking” project after all…

Panel4:
THEY’RE BURNING!!! They’re burning WITH the cigarettes!!! As soon as they lit their cigarettes, they covered their “no smoking” marks! What the heck?! These guys!!!!!!!!
This is only about semi-accurate, but it gets the point across well enough. The problem is is that the kind of humor being displayed here isn't the kind that Americans normally get. To put bluntly, it is, more or less, Asian humor. Very Asian humor

Now I think of it, it is very interesting to know the difference of Asian humor and Western humor! I know both humor types well, since I have been to both Asian and Western communities.

But they still have similarities, however.

Hey! This looks awfully familiar.....

I like it. Its not that funny, but with the semi-translation, I get where they were going.

Alright, but being the confused Hispanic guy that I am I can't seem to find the right place to post one of them fancy introductory posts.
Help?

I hope you got the PM...

So any idea how many guest strips we're looking at here? I know that it's until Rick is better, but I'm wondering if there are previous examples to look back to.

The alt text is much better than the actual comic since it's not just "haha guys have you heard? art these days is pretentious".

Although with "Duke" already on the paper I'm not sure that 'pseudonym' comment entirely works.

Yay! Familiarity is like a warm hug from Duke himself!

I happen to like this. The alt. text is the best part, though.

I have to wonder if that snow-cat was only there by coincidence, or if Daryl's got more of 'em ready.

you can say that as much as you like but the kind of jokes that would crack people up over here get less than crickets to the northeast

the only real similarities i can think of off-hand is that they tend to be delivered across a similar medium?

O_o That's so NOT fair! King is the real winner, Daryl joining the fight is illegal! Also, a snowcat?! The only weapon allowed are snowballs, he's breaking the rules of snowball fights!

Daryl is a loser. So are Miles' cubs.

I sure don't want to have a snowball fight with any of the wolves' pack.

Asteri is awesome. I didn't know King had it in him to beat the cubs in a snowball fight...

I just love Fox's nonchalance in this strip.

Alex wrote:Also, a snowcat?! The only weapon allowed are snowballs, he's breaking the rules of snowball fights!
Nah, a snowcat is still a snowball. A giant double-stacked cat-shaped snowball.

What about Bleach and Naruto? They use Asian humor! ...... I think... Well, if people actually laugh at their comedy aspect...
