Merk, please don't give a definition to a subjective term it really just askdfgl please. That's right I said please twice that is how srsface I am about this look at my serious face it's so serious

Anyway we don't welcome people here, we dump them in battery acid and sing Hungarian folk stories to the tune of Russian folk songs.
This is what I have decided and thus it must be so.

I, on the other hand, am much more traditional in welcoming.

Yeah, we're laid back here. It keeps things entertaining. And more friendly, I think. It's fun.

I mean, this is one of the few forums (actually, one of two) where I feel safe posting without the looming threat of a trigger-happy Admin/moderator banhammer.

So, yeah, welcome!

(and personally, I think the ol' tried and true paper-cut-and-salt treatment would work best. Cost efficient.)

And to Merka: Young forum, not dead forum. The comic is...well. A year old on Monday.

Great. Now it's going to be a race for the creation of a "Happy Birthday Housepets!" thread. Like the whole "first" thing in the comments. Who will participate in the race?

Salve, not slave >8c And as for Dissension's welcome, I don't know, I haven't gotten that word in Latin yet D8.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! :> And, hah, I know what you mean, I've always felt more comfortable in smaller forums, easier to adjust.

Okay, how about acid, fire, AND salt?

TRIGGER HAPPY BANHAMMER TIME
/slamface

It works but it's not dramatic enough. U:
i'll go with ian's suggestion of all three

As far as IT'SHOUSEPETS'BITRTHDAYOHMYGOD I think frankly Rick should do it or we should wait for Rick to do it because he's pretty much the pivotal person behind all this and it's kind of like celebrating his birthday only not quite as awesome as his actual birthday.
it would solve the race at least

Discipulus is student. It's that similar to disciple, that it kind of clicks for me. Though, I don't even do Latin so I looked it up to make sure <3
Anyway, are you doing legal or classical Latin?
The question's been asked elsewhere by other people of other people, so I'm curious of the now. U: I'm assuming you're doing legal for no reason other than that's my assumption. I wouldn't complain if I were wrong, hurr.

...
Come to think of it shouldn't you have used salvēte, since a forum is made up of more than one person?
Though we'd still be using salve in return to you.
man latin is starting to really interest me. even in how they say their greetings they have grammatical rules. i'm definitely adding this to my list of languages i really must learn sooner or later as soon as i stop being lazy. U:
honestly i need to stop focusing so hard on japanese, my french is falling behind and i haven't even started on german yet

...and finally, i laughed nice and long at the last four posts in here. i never noticed isolation's location so ironically before.
nice job <3

I'm not actually sure, hahah, we haven't used "salve" in the text much and honestly I suck at latin. I did get a learn-latin book to study over the summer though! But yeah, there's about 500000 ways to say something depending on the tense, who's saying it, who its directed too, how many people said it, blah blah blah blah. It gets so gosh darn* confusing. >:

I know right. This is why I seriously have to learn Latin, it looks so much fun! So much grammar!

Yeah, I meant to pop back in and say that 'discipulus' means student.

...

Latin's pretty cool, so I encourage all of you who have even the slightest interest to study it. Of course, the only person I call 'Magister' (master or teacher) is...

Imperator Rick Supremus Maximus, Tyrannus Omnia Rerum Latinae!

(Bonus points for any translator except the aforementioned Master.)

Hahaha, I think I basically get everything behind the comma, but I'm going to leave it for someone who actually knows. Besides Rick, as you said.

Uuuhm... Tyrant of all... something latin? As interested in latin as I am, I completely suck at it ;-; Fortunately I bought a book to read and study over the summer to help me learn more before the school year starts :>

Okay, I'll just translate it. *laughs*

Imperator Rick Supremus Maximus, Tyrannus Omnia Rerum Latinae

=

Greatest Supreme General Rick, Ruler of All Things Latin.

Trust me, he deserves every syllable of that title. *giggles*

Whoo, I did have the part before the comma right. Nice job Ebly you're so awesome. |B
