NaNoWriMo

This year I am participating in National Novel Writing Month.

I don't expect this to interrupt the comic's usual progression in any way, I just need more projects in order to create for myself a work habit. Or to drive myself crazy.

But anyway! I may post some excerpts here if I wish to. As I have written it so far, it will be a contemporary fantasy thing, you know, like all the kids are reading these days. And because I'm doing this with no preparation whatsoever it will likely be total dreck, but the point is not to write something good, the point is to write.

I've found this slightly convenient, considering this coincides with something I've been doing on my own. Doubt I'll finish a Novel though.

Mmh.. I was thinking of joining in on it too-- but then I realized that college eats time and personal progress like crazy....

I think I'll try sometime next year. ~

I figured if I could do a comic with college eating up my time, I could write a novel with college eating up my time.

Yeah well My college sorta takes a bit less time but it's pretty intensive, I only take one course for about a month. Luckily this month I'm in a fiction writing course.

Fiction writing is the BEST kind of course; I've taken three before. I have considered trying to sign up for Clarion some distant year.

Fiction is always awesome, unless the real world throws you one of those one in a thousand curve balls that make you realize that in fact soemthings reality is indeed stranger than fiction. I wonder who first came up with that quote and what was going on with them to make them realize that fact.. Anywho, good luck with the writing!

No, those things make fiction better because you get a crash refresher course in how weird you can make it while it still being plausible. Gives you situations. Gives you ideas. c:

Curveballs are my No.1 creative muse, I swear. x'D

I somewhat dissagree with that. :? A story has to wrap together well. Make too many things like that and people won't even understand the story.

Exactly. It has to be realistic enough to be understood. It has to make sense.

That post was pointless, had nothing to do with anything in here, and bumped a topic that died ages ago.
I know I've failed by replying, but honestly, please don't do that again.

And now the topic becomes relative.

Yeah, I'll think I'll give it a shot. I probably won't make it, but I'll sure as heck try. I do have an idea though, so that's a start! Who else is gonna try?

But you're Buck, so... did you, by any chance, mean relevant? You know, that word that would actually make sense in the context you had?

Alright so after hearing all you people talking about it ALL THE TIME in the chat, I decided I might as well get in and try to put some imagination down in text so I could clear out some room in my head to clear our a slot for a new dream series in my head.

Alright so here's my profile as requested by DYLAN. I'll get you Dylan... I'll get you.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/589024

I'm like 4 thousand words behind but I'll catch up. I've barely got my story arranged in my head, so most of it will probably just be improvised as I go. Don't be expecting too much. I'll work on getting a summary and excerpt ready tomorrow or something.

Wait, how can you be 4,000 words behind if its only the second day? From what I understand, you need to write 1,666 words everyday to make the mark. So, Even if you haven't written anything yet, that's still only about 3,000 words.

YES I AM OVERTHINKING THIS BECAUSE I AM GOING TO LOSE A LOT OF SLEEP ACCOMPLISHING IT AND EBLY HAD BETTER NOT COMMENT ON THE LACK OF PUNCTUATION IN THE SECOND HALF OF THIS POST

Whhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee hooray for catching flu over the weekendddddddddddddddd

After some quick research, apparently my genre falls under "Literary Fiction." Wish me luck, I'll need it...Hmm...maybe I'll change the idea...

And oooooooooh Blasphemer's Prayer. That's the one I was hoping you'd do, Rick. I thought the popular vote was, "When I ruled the world." At least, that's what it looked like...

How does that work? Are you intentionally writing something pretentious and unreadable?

Well I decided to go for BP because last year I already did a story blind, so I decided to go for a story I already had mostly plotted
