So I came from a Fathom Events screening of the Broadway revival of the musical "She Loves Me", and it was great!

My brother and I went to see Rogue One the other night. Definitely worth it! Though the IMAX thing isn't something I'll go back to. The 3D glasses just don't work with my own. Really cool to hear references to The Clone Wars and Rebels on the big screen.

I actually didn't catch any references to rebels, though I did note that Steve Blum (Zeb's voice) was in the credits as a voice.
my only gripe is that Tarkin should have stayed in the shadows. the CG was creepy when they clearly showed his face.

At the rebel base, the intercom called for General Syndulla, so it could be either Hera or her father, though neither of them are of that rank at this time in Rebels. My brother pointed out a familiar ship at the final battle, which he said could be the Ghost.

Interesting that they brought Saw Gerrera all the way from The Clone Wars. As mentioned before, I had issues with the 3D glasses, so a lot of smaller details escaped me, but I thought it was cool how they did Tarkin.

Just came back from seeing La La Land, and it was great!

I agree, honestly this movie would be way better with less death and be more like all dogs go to heaven live action.

Ok so obviously super late and the small screen isn't ideal for it but I just watched the hateful eight the other night and whoah man. Didn't seem like three hours at all, absolutely loved it. I read afterwards that The Thing was a big influence on it and it kinda clicked why it worked so well for me. Definitely shades of the same claustrophobia and paranoia.


(Rouge one was really cool too, my inner star wars geek was satisfied)

Just came from seeing The Lego Batman Movie, and it was great!

The last movie I saw in theaters was Sing. It was alright, but it did break a few rules...

For one, it's typically not considered a good idea to have ape characters due to the unfortunate implications. Also, the rat's story was unnecessary and had several problems, but I can't explain it without spoilers.

But I'm being too negative. The original songs were great and the characters (sans mouse) were normally very likable and well developed for the time they got.

Saw this weird cartoon recently called "The Wild Life" about a island that only inhabits 6 animals who don't know about the outside world. surely enough, a ship gets wrecked and everyone onboard abandoned the ship before the storm ruined it ~ except a cabin boy and his dog. and a pair of evil cats who just plain hate the boy and his dog's guts for not letting them eat the chickens on that ship earlier. the island inhabitants are scared of the human ~ except one - a parrot. Story becomes something like Shrek and everyone tries to figure out if this guy is a monster or not.

The movie clearly uses alot of old cliches and feels like they took alot of stuff from other movies, but it gets weird halfway through the movie. especially when the evil cats are marooned on a bug island not far from where the plot is from and decide to breed their own army of cats to take over the island. Yeesh.

It was a somewhat decent movie, though. If it didn't feel like so much was forced in the movie it probably could've been better.

Alright, my brother and I saw the Power Rangers movie.

I quite enjoyed it! A few cringe-worthy jokes (sadly we start the movie with one, but seriously, the series had it's own share), some pretty good action scenes, some quiet moments when they were needed, some surprisingly good humor, moments that reminded everyone of the seriousness of the situation. All in all, a pretty enjoyable film.

Still don't like Goldar.

Also, major pieces of fanservice. This made it in! Lots of people, including me, cheered at this part! And two more at the end, which I won't say.

Saw The Boss Baby. It was actually really good. VERY predictable, but it gets it's humor from how hammy they go along with it. On the bright side, the story isn't so predictable that the major storyline parts feel weak. you'll see some good twists on the usual growing up with grumpy family formula. That being said, some of it can get REALLY cringe worthy, but if you like to see some cute baby with hammy humor in a cartoon movie, this certainly was fun to watch for it's over-the-topness.

Just came back from seeing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and it was great!

I second this, I liked it as much as if not more than the first one, and that's saying something since the first was/is like my favorite marvel movie so far.

so I finally got around to watching Doctor Strange, (In no small part due to an RP...) and OH DEAR GODS is Strange boring in the first part of the movie. I'm all for back story and characterization, but is this the intro to a movie or an episode of a medical themed drama that somehow got mixed up with the first ten pages of script?!

Just came back from seeing Wonder Woman, and it was great!

Just saw IT in theaters. It was a great movie! 7/10

The movie goes a comedy and horror method with kids doing immature child-hood things like mom and sex jokes, but the movie does it very well with the 1986 setting. They even talk about movie, games and famous icons back then like it's normal. It got that Stranger Things vibe very well. The Bullies you hate in this and for good reason, but it's treated very realistic and scary.

Theater jumped 3 times at least when Pennywise showed up. I could tell i grown use to this stuff, but i can guarantee this movie did a nice job with it.

I'm thinking I'm going to go see It this weekend I keep hearing good stuff.
if any of you have seen the version with tim curry how does this one stack up? I like that version but definitely am ok with a remake especially if it's as good as I've heard.

I liked both versions. It's hard to say which one was better since they were both good. The Tim Curry version has more story depth than this one, though. But not by much. The child actors in this new one i enjoyed very much.

just came back from seeing it and oh man it was really cool.
It's a bit jump scare heavy for my taste but there were a lot of really striking and really disturbing moments between the cheaper jump scare scenes. Really dug it and loved the cast so much.

also they had anthrax on the soundtrack so I am contractually obligated to love it.

Just got back from the movies... Can't believe Beaky was first on the webhead's roster this time around. That's a switch.

After the first viewing of Coco, we're going to give it a second viewing, this time in stereo....

Saw Coco in stereo, really good. They should double-feature with The Book of Life.

Saw Last Jedi. I had a lot of fun.

So did we. The Last Jedi was a family present to us all.

I did not see The Last Jedi (yet), but I did see The Greatest Showman, and I thought it was really good.

"Lady Bird" is wistful and moving, good flick on the themes of family, friendship, and trying to fit in when you just don't.

Just got out of The Shape of Water, and it was great.

We saw "Shape of Water", too ... a really different movie, hard to categorize, but well worry seeing.

Finally saw Coco. My brother got the Blu-Ray, finally made time to see it. This was his third time watching it. Great movie! Turns out we both started crying at a particular scene.

Over the past 2-3 weeks I watched Coco and Wonder. Coco was amazing, it was a pleasure to look at and the music wasn't too bad. Wonder was really good, it was based off the book, but there wasn't a scene in the movie that I don't remember being in the book (but to be fare it's been like 4 years since I read it). I usually don't watch movies because they sometimes push political propaganda, but these were really good.
