Obedience school... I like that! That could very, very easily tie into what Jump did, biting the twins...could scare every "parent" in the neighborhood into quickly enrolling their pet into an obedience class...

I hope someone is writing this down. Um, figure of speech, of course. Well, actually not. Seeing as my pet's a stray...Someone else would need to start that story idea. Someone run with it! Jump, this could be fodder for you to work off-of. Especially since it was your pet that bit the twins.

Edit: You see, this is why we brainstorm!

Yeah, I'd be down for that. Only question is what kind of classes would they teach?

Miscellaneous ideas
1. Crazy teacher with an animal phobia
2. Strict animal trainer type. Expects quick responses to a specific stimuli. Example: Finger snap to sit down.
3. Tiny desks like you would find in an elementary school.
4. Positive reinforcement being rare to non-existant.

New pet in town..

Name - Rav Ligerr
Owner - Sara Ligerr
Trainer - Christopher Toss

Species - Germain shepherd dog

Age - 27 dog years.
3 years, 9 months. in human years.

Gang - none yet

Appearance - Rav is one of those really big GSD's, think Rex from HousePets sized.
He has the standard GSD colors an markings. He is strong but not ripped, as he has a bit of a belly, a bit over fed. He has a big red scarf, with yellow bones an balls printed on it, tied about his neck, mostly covering his red shocker collar.. the collar has three dogs tags hanging from it. (Silver tag - his Dog License an ID.) (Bronze - Vaccinations) (red warning tag - declaring him to be a Vicious dog)

Personality - Rav is caring, devoted, an very protective of those he cares about. but also has a huge Alpha complex, (twords both pets an humans).
Altho currently his self-confidence is shaken, he is unsure of himself, an scared! having come literally a needles point away from being put down.

Background - Rav's sire an dame are showdogs. Rav however is disqualified to be a showdog. minor fault - larger than standard. minor fault - non-standard fur color pattern (the white in his tail), major fault - too long of a muzzle.

Other Notes -
Christopher from the obedience school is working closely with Rav. He believes that Rav is not vicious, an once they get his alpha complex problem under control, they can work to get him delisted as a vicious pet.

Rav can not sip from a cup like other pets can, because of his long muzzle. he has to lap, use a straw, or use a childs covered cup with spout, so he can tilt his head back an pour the drink into his muzzle.

Rav can usually speak clearly despite his long muzzle. Altho he will slur his words of he tries to speak quickly an/or excitedly. there also are some words that are just too hard to speak for him to say. No medical career for him..

SPECIAL -
Strength - 7
Perception - 6
Endurance - 7
Charisma - 5
Intelligence - 5
Agility - 6
Luck - 6

Rav's yet unseen Trainer - Christopher Toss, is from the Obedience school.
So there is someone to hook-up with to do behavior training with.

Hey, I was just thinking that since owners/parents seem to be communal characters we may all want to post a brief description of them so other people can use them correctly. I'm just spit balling here though.

Okay, I'll try it.
Name: Paragus O'Niel
Owner: Angus O'Neil
Species: Peregrine Falcon (non-morphic due to cannon explanations of animals)
Age: 3 Human years since I don't know the proper conversion
Gang: No affiliation
Appearance:
Image
Personality: Very rugged and outspoken. He's likely to be unhelpful and slightly insulting, though he doesn't mean to be. He speaks in a very thick, almost comical Scottish accent (something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrCMB7N5V1s&feature=fvw). He tries to make friends however he has difficulty due to his species, since most just assume he's a dumb bird.

A bird flew into my house, to get out of the rain this morning..
I wonder if i should have Rav re-act like my RL dog did..
It's a flying toy, lets eat it!

Okay, I know this is off topic and you've heard it before, but do you think I could join with a raccoon without Brittles' permission? I've just been waiting for a while. . . If not, I could always turn my raccoon into a cat, instead.

I think Brittles has abandoned the RP here.
So do what you want to do..

Just remember, when using a non-standard pet, it (can - might - should?) provoke an in-character hostile response from the other pets.

My RL dog chased an tried to munch the bird that flew into the house.
An we have seen Grape, eat a mouse.
an we have seen a hostile response from Grape when she found Coons in the house, smacking an chasing all three of them out of the house with a broom.

I think it's based on what the pets are doing (ex: the mouse Grape ate was being all revolutionary)...altough I'm sure my raccoon could cause quite a stir, if she wanted. :D

Nah, Brittles just hasn't been here in ages. If there was intentional abandonment involved it was the whole forum, not just this topic. x3

*shrugs* Brittles hasn't been here, so why not? Raccoons are common enough animals. Domesticated is a little rare though (if at all legal) so I'd look that up...there is a bit of reality in every fantasy. And aren't raccoons nocturnal? That'll be interesting.

Re: Pet Friendly-OOC-Always Recruiting!

It's legal in America only in a few states, and even then you generally have to buy one from a licensed breeder -after- you get a permit. Also, Raccoons can also learn to be diurnal, over time. Sometimes those that are nocturnal will appear during the day to take advantage of food sources. Anyway point is, yeah, rare pet, nocturnal... Brittles said that as long as an animal can be domesticated legally it's acceptable as a character. I guess it's really rare, but still it can happen, so go ahead.

Not like Brittles really checks up to make sure nobody's disobeying all the rules or anything.

No, no, she's nice because she's nice. She just doesn't know she should be hostile. Or at least, I'm assuming such.

This is begging philosophy. Should she be hostile? Is there something achieved by such? Or is it merely a negative attitude - if it is, then it is just as possible for a positive one to be formed, whether or not it's as likely.

Have you ever had to deal with smart raccoons on a camping trip? There was one time where my friends and family had a pile of rocks at the ready for the raccoons that repeatedly tried to attack any and all food sources. Raccoons make mess, cause problems, and, on occasion, raid food stockpiles, whether they may be in a cooler or a house. Raccoons, in short, simply have a bad reputation, but a well earned one at that. If raccoons are allowed to stay, then they will cause problems for humans. Being openly hostile, however, deters raccoons from sticking around.

I'd wager that Daisy simply didn't know any better. Generally, you want to be hostile to feral raccoons.

However, if you really want to get all philosophy up in here, you could say that it is "just desserts" for humans who are consistently invading other animal habitats. You could say that this is a reaction to a reaction. Now, there's also the fact that being openly hostile to a raccoon is a human point of view, and that it would rub off on pets (hence Grape's reaction) but Daisy can't understand this point of view, and thus forms her own, friendly one.

So yes, there is something archived by being hostile, yes it is a negative attitude reaction that causes it, and yes, it is possible for a positive opinion to be formed. (whew!)

Raccoons don't live naturally in Australia, so I think that question's pretty defunct. Either way, if the raccoon is feral, fair enough. If it's domesticated, however, raccoons are pretty, well, nice. It's up to caelei whether the raccoon would be domesticated or feral, and I'm pretty sure I can guess which they'd choose.

Either way I have psychology coursework to do so I'll respond to this again later (to be honest probably with agreements, but who knows) when I have more time on my hands, I just wanted to point that out is all.

Nerd time! S.P.E.C.I.A.L is a simple system I'd like people to use to define their characters abilities:How strong they are, how fast they are etc. Don't panic, it's very simple, the numbers are only here as 'guidelines' of sorts, we will never actually use REAL rules. All you need to do is take 42 points, and spread them between the seven attributes bellow. You must put at least 2 points in each one, and the most you can put in one is 10, with 5 being 'average'. You need not spend all 42 points if you don't want to.
