Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
Sorry guys, I'm not a furry. Yes, I love animals like almost everyone else, and I like some drawings w/animals I've seen around the Net, and I have like a "chart" xD with my favorite ones, but I'm very happy as a human!
But don't worry, I'm wide open to chat w/all of you, of course xD Shaking paws with my hand is very nice for me!

Don't be sorry for not being Furry! It's your choice and if you're happy at a human, go ahead and be one! *Shakes paws/hands*

Yeah, right. It's your own choice and whatever you define for yourself is fully okay. But just because you are human doesn't mean that you can't be a furry. But as mentioned, you have to decide it for yourself.

Yes, Render, that's right It's just I really like who I am, but don't worry, I'll take that into accountRender wrote:Yeah, right. Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
While most people here identify as furry, not everyone does. I don't consider myself a furry simply because while I do enjoy things with anthro animals, I don't gain more enjoyment from it. I don't like or dislike it more than everything else.zdflion96 wrote:Again, I prefer being just myself
Copper doesn't identify as furry either. It would be kinda hypocritical if we shunned you for not being a furry when some of the staff aren't. (Not that we would shun you anyway. )

This comic's been running for more than a decade. Rick's competitor(?) in "topwebcomics"
It looks pretty furry eh?
The author says it's manga.
Alright...
This game (Dust an elysian tail) was made by One man! It was under development for a decade and sold more than a million copies.
The author says it's furry
Both have two major main characters each in tone of sky blue and orange, one of em is a feline.. they both have tails and ears, but, huh?!
WU>>??!!
Where is the logic?
It's the author's say that makes his/her work furry or not. Not one of those "at this stage it is this and at this stage it's furry!"
I'm just saying this because my friend once tried to Make the line that separates furry and anthro.

TwoKinds being manga doesn't mean it's not also furry.
Though I'd argue there's not much Japanese about its style.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
I tried reading Two-Kinds about a month ago.
It's very much like a Shonen Anime.
I don't like Shonen Anime.
That and the author found an excuse to get a female character to take her shirt off fairly early in the story.
It kinda read like a bad fan-fiction.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
The art gets better, that's for sure. The plot and characters still manage to be somewhat cliched and predictable.
Funny thing is, the artist claims its a pg comic, but really, its borderline NSFW. Characters are anatomically correctly drawn and yes, there is quite a bit of nudity. Inappropriate/mature topics and situations are often brought up too.
My other complaints include slow art development (unlike Rick), irregular update schedule, and too much fanservice.
It is by no means a bad comic, but I personally think its overrated.

I agree with this assessment.deepskycyan wrote:but I personally think its overrated.
The art does get a lot better from the beginning, but the story progression is SO SLOW. I understand that he probably wants to keep a lot of detail so he doesn't leave any plot holes (Or as few as possible), but I think he needs to either pick up the pace on his updates a bit, or start condensing the story in general (Just my opinion). I still think there is WAY too much we don't know for the comic being 10 years old. The only reason I still read it is because I like the

It looked pretty anime-ish when it started.
It just changed...
I don't have much say about how it developed because I just read it all in a week. Same goes for Housepets. Read 50~90 strips in one sitting.
Is that a nerdier version of Housepets? XD JK
I found this great comic few days ago. Man this comic just suits me.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
What specific differences there can be between anthro characters and furry characters? Maybe the first ones are more human for appearance and behavior, while the second ones are more animal-like and can have a more cartoonish look? Can the only clothes make the difference?
When's so, TwoKinds comic may be considered anthro because of the look of some of the characters. The drawing style reminds of mangas.
Those two Australian sheperds can well be Peanut's mates for gaming.

I found it too last night, it's really nice and enjoyable. Very good the draws! Amusing jokes, also if I don't get some of them because I don't know certain games very well. There are various similarities with Housepets!, indeed.texascat018 wrote:Is that a nerdier version of Housepets? XD JK

I think him being a Radiation therapist student doesn't help with the frequent updates.Tim wrote:"I've been an artist for over 6 (More than 6, he just didn't update his bio) years, starting around the age of 14. The first anime I remember watching was My Neighbor Totoro. I decided to start drawing after I stumbled upon webcomics through a random web search. The first webcomic I read was Vet on the Net, and that lead to dozens of others.
I was inspired to write Twokinds after having experienced a lot of racial discrimination from kids at my school, who were predominently white. My writing skills at the time were not very good, but I still felt like I was doing something good by trying to create a good message through my writing. After struggling to create a book for a year, I decided making a comic might be a better option. After working at my art for several more years, I finally came out with Twokinds on October 22nd, 2003.
Today, I am a college student at Raymond Walters College, a part of the University of Cincinnati. I'm studying to become a Radiation therapist, while doing artwork on the side."

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
I have a fursona, but I don't consider myself a furry these days. I love mingling and talking others with similar interests in animals that I love, but I am proud to be born who I am.
My mother would turn red if she found out I wanted to be a real-life cat. Taste, but do not touch kinda deal, but I so enjoy the taste of a cat. X3
I also enjoy the idea of having a fursona because it represents what I want people to see me on the net. Cats are my favourite animals and any feline for that matter, next to Dragons.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself a Furry?
That's why I have a fursona too. I know I'm not really a quoll. I'm fully human and I've no desire to be an animal, nor do I think I am one. Furrhan, my fursona, is just how I choose to represent myself online and Furrhan is, I believe, a close approximation for who I am as a person. I've heard it said that there are three types of fursonas - one that fully represents you, one that represents a part or aspect of you, and one that is who you want to be. Furrhan is the representative kind. There's a lot of me in him and by understanding him you could begin to understand me. I think it's impossible to sum up a human being in a few short words or sentences because we're much more complex than that but I think that fursonas, at least of the representative kind, are the way some of us as least try to do that as best we can.GameCobra wrote: I also enjoy the idea of having a fursona because it represents what I want people to see me on the net.
On that note, does anyone think we ought to make a separate thread for discussing our fursonas? They do fall under the banner of "furry" but they are also their own topic in and of themselves and you can, as GC pointed out, have a fursona without actually being furry.

DISCLAIMER: The following was my conception of furry people when I was a n00b This conception changed some posts later, thanks to the enlightment of some people. It was for sure a big mistake I'll never make again
I'm not a furry, but I like animals. They fascinate me as I have them as the perfect system this world has.
Besides, what if I become an animal in my other life? What I think is that you're doing the same but a little too early.
Rare? How come?! Strange? Of course not!
And remember, on Babylon Gardens animals live together with humans. It could be the same here, but, for sure, you CAN buy your things and are citizens with full rights!
BE PROUD OF YOU!
(...and if that's not enough, check my brand new comic and keep calm if no HP! characters appear... They will )
