Even Miles was happy for her.

"That's great!" He said, "It's good to have family with you. Look, I'm sorry I snapped like that. It's been a long day and a long walk. Sigh. So, if you don't mind, I'm just gonna slip under the couch and go to bed."

Without waiting, Miles got on the floor and rolled under the couch.

Goodnight Miss Rena. Maybe we'll talk about it some more tomorrow? Like, when you aren't being chased like prey. Heh.

While he wasn't fully asleep yet, Miles used his hands as pillows as best he could and started to drift to sleep.

Rena stretched and yawned after she looked around Gage's room. "Nice place y'all got here Gage, but I'm sorry." She said. "I obviously needed to head straight home after we got out of the woods. Maybe we can hang out again when I'm not chained to the wall by my tail?" She joked, hoping to give a good impression as she headed toward Gage's bedroom door.

Man she was going to get an earful about a lot of things when she got home tonight, she could feel the tension already.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd time skip

Something was chasing him through the woods, he could feel it's hot breath on the back of his neck
Gage was thrashing around in his sleep and awoke with a start as he rolled off his couch and hit the floor. He looked at the clock hanging over his T.V., it was 6:30 The couch looked comfortable but he thought better of going back to sleep, not wanting to repeat the nightmare he'd just escaped, and he had promised isabel he'd be at breakfast at 7. He exited his room and walked downstairs quietly, trying not to wake his parents. He quickly downed a pepsi and scrawled a brief note before exiting out the front door. It was a beautiful morning the sun shone through the few remaining leaves on the trees and it was already about 50 degrees.(10 degrees celsius)

Within a few minutes he was standing at Janus and Isabel's front door and knocking. I hope they don't mind me coming over a bit early

Rex woke up early from a quiet buzz in his collar - he had received an SMS. It was his Dad asking him to come as fast as he can.
The Shepherd stood up and tip-toed to the dining room, where he left his guitar last night. He took it and was about to leave the house, when he saw Albert's Dad, who just smiled at the dog.
Rex went to the man and whispered quietly.
"Thanks for the fine dinner, sir and for the good company last night, but I got an urgent call from my Dad. Please tell Tia and Albert I said "Bye!", but I didn't want to wake them up."
with this he went through the door, leaving Albert house and quickly headed to his.

-Here it goes again- Albert thought while rubbing his eyes, getting ready for another day he opened his eyes. "ERK-" He cut himself off by covering his muzzle with his paws. He had forgotten that Tia and Rex had stayed the previous night, so he was startled by the sight of Tia, but something didn't quite set right with him. Rex wasn't where he was when he went to bed lastnight.

Albert got up quietly hoping not to wake Tia. He searched the house real quick, but didn't see Rex anywhere. Albert went back to Tia and shook her lightly. "Hey, Tia, did you see Rex leave? He tried to whisper just enough so that she could hear it.

"Buster, honey? You asked me to wake you up now."

Buster sat up in his bed, his head fur slightly a mess, and yawned while stretching. "Thanks Mom. I told Miss Isabel I'd go eat breakfast at her house." He got up and went straight to the bathroom to fix his bed head and brush his teeth. Once done, he headed downstairs to the front door.

He noticed the door to the basement open and the light was on. I guess Dad's either working early or he fell asleep in the chair again.
He headed out the door and walked over to Oak street.

When he got there, he was a little earlier than he had expected,but he saw Gage standing at the door of Janus's place. "Good Morning, Gage. I see you're here early, too."

4:45 A.M. That's what was displayed by the clock above Rena's bed when she woke up... She knows very well because it hit her head after she fell out of her bed. Nearly thirty minutes later, after struggling with the clock to get it back in position on the wall, she went to go outside. Recoiling from the breeze, she decided to grab her jacket. After slipping it on though, she found herself staring in the mirror, admiring the new look.

"Adventurous look, huh? I like it!" She said as she looked up and down her reflection, keeping her naturally bold pose. After a few minutes she decided she should go for her morning jog. Surprisingly, she hadn't been grounded like she had thought she would be. Her mom had actually expected her home late. Going along the edge of town, she made sure to see if there were any feral or wild animals going in and out as they pleased. This took a good hour. After which, she decided she'd finally go to Janus' residence.

((OOC: She doesn't like ferals, and so she tries to keep the out of town, and since ferals act like wild animals, she treats them the same. Also, she'll be there next post, this is just to show her going, just so you know I'm still in.))

"OW!" Miles blurted out in a quick whisper. He had forgotten that he'd fallen asleep underneath a couch.

That smarted. He thought, rubbing his head.

Sigh, and it looks like I'm still here. Another day. Miles covered his face with his hands and shook his head. He wanted peace as much as any other dead thing would. But for some reason, the tricky fates had snatched it away from him for yet another day.

"All right, that's enough," he scolded himself, "Time to start the day. I guess."

Hey, you guys awake yet? What time is it? He thought to the other pets in the house.

Isabel closed the door. The air was filled with warm milk, hot bread, fresh butter, marmalade and pastries. "Now you boys go to him. He's upstairs, first door on the right. Knock before you enter. I'm still baking most of the stuff, so it will be some twenty minutes before breakfast is served. I hope you like it continental."

The study was almost like an art gallery in progress. There were tools of the most various shapes neatly lined up, empty canvas stacked against each other, pieces of clay, statues, blocks of wood...and colors. there was paint, pastels, pencils, charcoals, everything to cover the whole visual spectrum in its millions of nuances. Two whole walls of the room were occupied by mobile rows filled with colors.

Sitting on a stool, Janus was working at the painting depicting gage, dressed in some ancient armor, battling a hydra. Goya would've been proud of the results so far!
Without even turning, the Czech Wolf said, "Gage! Buster! Please, come in! You're early." The brush was moving carefully but quickly on the painting. Gage could belong to a small breed, but here he was depicted as the most fearless of creatures.
"Slept well, guys? Give me another couple of minutes, then I'll take a break."

Rena had happily jogged up to the door... After tracking down her own path from the day before... Not easy in a town where scents get covered regularly, but reliable all the same. She knocked on the door rapidly to announce her arrival, since she was sure after saying she'd likely be grounded, she would be unexpected. Wonder if I'd dreamed that whole ghost thing. She though with her last bit of alone time, since asking about it fell under the 'unusual' things to do if it was just a dream.

((OOC: I need to find a better way to mark a thought than just italics, any suggestions?))

Hubert's mindvoice answered to Buster, <Ohh, we are already at the 'sometimes today' phase? Admit it, mortal, you're having second thoughts. Hmm?> He sounded amused.

"I'm sorry you didn't sleep well, Gage. Me, once I enter coma mode, I stay down for 12 hours. Sharp. I woke up at dawn, refreshed and ready to work." Well, that wasn't exactly true: he felt as if he had eaten raw meat. He had used a lot of toothpaste and rinse to get rid of the awful taste. And worst thing, he didn't even know how that had happened, but he didn't want to upset the others with his problems. Especially the cute bunny...

Gage thought about telling Janus about the incident in the woods but figured it'd be better not to worry Janus with his problems.

Gage shrugged No Idea. I might explore town a little bit more but I haven't really planned anything.

"Thanks, sorry for the trouble." Rena said as she handed Isabel her jacket, since she wouldn't need it, being inside and all. She ascended the stairs slow enough to let whatever Isabel might need to say be said before she was out of reach, following the smell of paint. Easily done since paint is a very prominent smell. Once she'd gotten to the room that smelled strongest of paint, she couldn't smell anything else. Knocking on the doorway to let them know she was there, she held on to the doorway as she tried to see, which she hardly knew how to do, taking in only vague shapes and shadows as she wobbled under the fumes of paint she'd only smelled from a distance before that moment.
