Although it could be Blacks if you want it to be, Hotep. I hadn't thought of that. I was just moving Tackle away from there because Tiki wanted to get back to work and Ventus and Stint were going to catch up with Tackle. Having it being Blacks totally works too though.

Just a heads-up:

1.) I've just moved Argent and Moon Howler to the inactive players list pending their return to full-time playing.

2.) Shall we make an arc of the raid on the galley? Any thoughts/suggestions on how to do that or if it should be done?

Hey, this could get comedic. *Blacks swings a frying pan at a rat and deliberately accidentally hits the cook's ingrown toenail* *cook tries to whack Blacks with a rolling pin but knocks the pepper over* *pepper makes the rats sneeze and trip Blacks who trips the cook*

Something along those lines would be hilarious! Total carnage!

hmmm i can think of a few things. but blacks would still be freindly to the rats, just has to keep his place by eating one or two whole. then cough them up later.

Somehow I doubt cook will tolerate idlers by perhaps if Blacks makes himself useful by scrubbing pots then he'll be able to stay.

e_e For the first time I find myself unsure what to do with my characters. Suggestions, anybody? Given that Tackle has delegated the raid on the galley to Stint and Ventus it would hardly be appropriate for him to tag along so what should he do instead?

actually we had a little bit of a time skip , so I think he should be somewhere on the ship as well

the time skip isn't exactly an option in here since he went AWOL, missing and not looked for for what - 3 in-game days or so ( ? ), though a retcon might fix the situation (hopefully without causing my character to use "Insta-teleport home ability"). Still the option of an epic return of Patrick is possible and I already have it made in my mind, though some details will be dealt with once I get to writing.

Still, it's the active GM's call here.

I'm not familiar with the term "retcon" but I don't want Patrick out of the game either. Do whatever you like to get him back to the ship just so long as it's within the rules. I'll certainly let you know if I think anything needs changing.

As to this table in the galley, just for historical accuracy, the galley wouldn't be all that big and the only table in there would be for preparing food on. As far as I'm aware, only the captain and officers would have sat at a table and and that would have been in the officers' or captain's quarters. The crew would take their plate and spoon and find a spot on the deck to sit. In fact, from what I can see, the crew would be divided into "mess groups" of about 6 men and given a bucket or "kid" full of the days rations by the purser. One person would then be elected to go and aid the cook in preparing the food. Most food on ships would also be boiled from what I can tell, and the food would be quite simple too unless you happened to be an officer in which case it might be marginally better. Porridge/oatmeal and peas pudding were quite common. So in the galley, we'd have the cook and probably several other crew members who would be helping to prepare the food for their "mess group".

This means that with more people the carnage is just going to be that much worse.

I suppose it's conceivable that Patrick could make a raft out of whatever he could find. He'd probably have to fight the cats that got left behind for resources though. (Just so you know, Moon Howler, most of the ship's cats were left on the island because they were tearing apart the bilge in an attempt to find the rats. They even copped the blame for the explosive traps that Pinch set.)

I was thinking you'd do a post stating that Patrick followed the rest of the crew on board and play it like that but your way works too.
After the carnage in the galley we were going to have a sea battle and then sail to Castillo Pato for repairs which will take a couple of days so if you want him to ride on sea turtles then I see no reason why he shouldn't do just that. The only thing is, how would he know which way the ship has gone?
