Same here, trekkie. Fall and Halloween has an aesthetic that I can't describe but it has a warm, wholesome feel to it. Plus the weather is the perfect temperature. I also have a farm market nearby, but its pumpkin muffins with sugary sprinkling on top that I look forward too.

I'm sure if i looked i could find a farmer's market near me but I'm not sure if it would sell those treats.

I love colors of the fall foliage, and yeah, the temperatures are great and so are Halloween and Thanksgiving.

There's a report that the colors are going to turn more slowly this year - don't know as I'll mind.

Well it did happen to skip right over Spring and go to Summer in New England so maybe the weather is trying to make up for it.

Weather in Wisconsin has been bizarre, too. August was very cool and dry, up until a week of rain earlier this month. It's been hot and humid since. My campus can't decide whether to use the AC or not :?

I went to school in Madison decades ago - much enjoyed Wisconsin.

Yeah because the weather wasn't being bipolar in the 1920s. XD

Din't notice the weather. Mr. Harding and Mr. Coolidge were creating "normalcy" and I working the brewery tours.

Then that goes to show you that it didn't really have much wild variation then.

Floods, droughts, dust bowls, all normal stuff … just enough to inspire Jazz, the Blues, and talking in the movies. Well, after the Jazz Singer and Steamboat Willie, the movies did the talking; we had to keep quiet in order to hear them.

Weather's always been wonky. My grandmother grew up in and around Racine, Wisconsin in the '20s and '30s and she had quite a few stories to tell. She always wanted to go back, but (aside from a few years in the '60s) never did.

My missus grew up in Richland center, and you got that weather characterization so right.....

So then can somebody please explain to me what kind of store that Boscov's is? We just got one that opened up in the Providence Place mall over here and we can't figure out where its origins are from.

It’s a department store. We have a couple down near where I live. They came out of Pennsylvania. I like their stuff myself.

We lived in PA for a while - Boscov's is (or was then) a nice store.

I've mostly seen them in videos about malls. Seems they're a popular anchor store in certain parts of the country.

Just went and looked it up and here is the states that they are in as it seems to be a clothing and kitchen department store.

Pennsylvania: 26
New Jersey: 8
New York: 4
Maryland: 3
Delaware: 3
Connecticut: 2
Ohio: 1
Rhode Island: 1

The one is Rhode Island is the one that I went to which is in the Providence Place mall. Its very nice there and I like that it not only has three floors, but apparently an auditorium where they had Debbie Boone perform today (didn't go because I have no clue who she is. LOL)

They also make very nice fudge and it is just so good to eat. I got some Raspberry Cheesecake and its up there as one of the best fudges I ever ate. It is very sweet though.

It is wicked sweet so you better have a beverage to help it go down. At least the raspberry cheesecake is.

I never heard of Boscov's until the store showed up one day at the Providence Place mall taking over the Nordstrom's which closed there.

I figured out why ours has an auditorium though: it was the cafeteria that Nordstrom's had in there that was converted to an auditorium.

Yeah, us north of Boston sorts are melancholy creatures by nature, so I write it off to my DNA. Somedays, you just get the blues but you know it'll pass eventually. Sorry you're feeling glum, though...

In those times when I get a little too blue in October, I put on Van Morrison's "Moondance". Gets me up every time. I gets a little giddy, well, there's always "Autumn Leaves". Music is medicinal for me.

Definitely beautiful to see the varying shades of oranges and yellows, and the temperature feels lovely most of the time during Autumn. Easily my favorite season.

The weather's been great, no humidity or bugs but still warm enough (even if it is a little chilly) to wear a t-shirt and shorts. The leaves are starting to change, too.

So I want to play Dungeons and Dragons, but am divided between doing fourth edition or fifth edition, I have most of the stuff for fourth edition, but then there is Dungeons and Doggies which is some unofficial supplement that adds dogs as a race to fifth edition. So I want to ask which one you guys think I should go for.
P.S. Do not have '____th edition sucks' (or some variation) as part of the reasoning.

D and Dogs sounds amusing. Might be a dud, though.... Crumbs, last time I played Dungeons and Dragons, both were real.

From what I gathered from my friends who are into RPG, (I do it only occasionally), a lot of them like the fourth edition because most of my friends are into tactics and combat. They've said the Fifth edition is easier to learn for new players, though, so that is a consideration if you are introducing people to D & D. I was unable to find any strong opinions one way or the other on Dungeons and Doggies. As for me, I'd say go for the fourth just because you said you have most of the things for it already.
