I don't think it was too minor if we had Rocky bringing attention to it. Then again, maybe he is just ultra observant because God knows I'm not honestly as I can be completely oblivious.

Its just a shame that she ended up being exploited in order to help the selfish motivations of some of the cast as her gift definitely was capable of great things in regard to helping other animals. At least at the end Charlie realized how wrong it was and ended up cleaning up his act.

That was the only way that they could make a second movie it looks like. I honestly hate it when any sort of material reverses someone's character development. The status quo is not ALWAYS God.

I think Don Bluth Productions didn't want to be seen as profiting off Judith's name after what happened.

Was Ann Marie ever mentioned after the first movie in any way? Or did they just not bring her up because of the murder-suicide of her voice actress when she still had so much life left to live?

I don't think they ever mentioned her, but in the second movie there's a little girl you see from a distance that looks a little like her. Not sure if it's intentional.

That might be as much as they felt like they could do honestly. I don't think they would recast her after Judith Barsi's brutal murder. Now I can't watch anything with her in it knowing her fate.

They recast Ducky for the other Land Before Time movies, though.

Some companies do have different policies on what to do with a character animated or otherwise if the actor that plays them/voices them dies. Though in the case of "The Land Before Time", Ducky was pretty much a big character that they couldn't just drop.
