Ok, so this arc IS the top rollercoaster in the whole comic so far. Heck, it even beats when Peanut and Grape had their talk about his feelings for her! ACK!

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are three dimensional and apparently much easier to listen to from over in purgatory.... Huh. How 'bout that.

Pretty easy to see where Max is coming from though. Wonder how the others are gonna be reacting to this little incident.

Well the expected Grape-max breakup happened but what about Peanut-Tarot?
And wow was max already crying as he got there?

I agree, at this point I'm starting to think that Max is in far more discontent than King ever was. That's actually quite the troublesome thought.

Might wanna hold the phone just a bit longer, I'm not sure if that constitutes as a potential break-up just yet. Though you might be right, that's almost on the edge me thinks. Also, I think he might've.

Peanut is in total shock, but he can get over it.
Rules, if I got them, are that there can be only one full avatar. Pete could have a cat since he was denied Grape by Dragon's meddling, and we know he still had the chanceto get one. So it appears that King may be used as a sort of backup, or support pawn, while Max has suddenly turned out to be a good full avatar candidate, whatever the class is.
I'd also like to point out that, despite everything, it's King who believes he's an avatar of sort and Pete is not doing anything to explain him that King is a third party, not really subjected to the gryphon. Plus, the fact that King is still a dog despite his third party position means that he only can make the final choice and stay a dog despite Pete's threat of breaking the spell.

Wow, never would have thought his sightly on your nerves getting cockiness was all to do with inadequacy issues. For the first time I'm starting to wonder if it was Fido that bit part of his ear off.

Notice here he says "Semi-feral". Maybe that's more than just an expression. I get the feeling he's talking about Sabrina, his and bino's mom (who i don't believe we've seen) and his own birth mother.

But seriously that would be a HUGE plot twist, I can kinda' see how that would be possible but it would still blow my mind.

My bet: Max gets to experience why a god can grief first hand. Dragon gets to experience life as a mortal and will continue to try wooing Peanut.

I always thought Max had inner pain, a lot of sarcastic and/or egotistical people, cover their inner sadness, so that no one knows how hurt they really are. Poor Maxie, I want to hug him.

Grape looks lovely with her head fur done that way.

I highly,highly doubt this is any kind of punishment; nor does Max deserves to be punished for anything. He's a hot headed idiot but that's really it, nothing to warrant any punishment from Dragon (if this was Pete I would be more inclined to agree with it maybe being some kind of punishment) What I think is going to happen is that him and Dragon are going to have a talk about what he just said and then they are going to likely go home.

Really, based on the info we have been given in the comic (and the general theme of this arc so far ie. relationships and choices) the only things that we know of that he could be talking about here are his relationship with Grape, and his one with Sabrina. As I said before given what he is saying I really think hes talking about Sabrina here, as nothing has been shown (at least IMO) to have happened between Grape and Max that would really warrant this level of outburst. Plus, again, the whole "not just lose but sink to the bottom" line makes me think it Sabrina even more because it sounds like something he would say about someone he broke up with. Unless I'm reading it wrong or something as I said before.

Cap'n! I see another ship coming in, but I can't make out the name! Is it the Dragwell or the Axon?

I think Dragon will have "a talk" with Max. Can't say the result, though. I don't believe she would just abandon him there. She'll tell him not only how he's wrong but why as well. What happens then is up in the air. She'll probably fall for Max, but I couldn't guess whether Max would be *capable* of accepting. (Could Dragon grant immortality to a mortal bf?)

I am quite sure this isn't Pete's doing. Even if he wanted Max, wouldn't it be cheating to spy on what another player is doing? It'd be like looking at your opponent's pieces in Battleship.

Also, subjective time must be nice. Dragon can chat with Max privately without anyone else having to realize they even left.

I'm not putting money on who exactly he's monologing about, but if I had to guess, I'll be that guy and say Grape.

Also, 3rd panel, Max looks full-blown emo. Can't help it, the black eye kinda looks like some serious emo eye makeup.

I do. He is brothers with Fido, who is the most popular dog in the neighborhood, and flunked police dog training so he probably feels inferior to Fido(he might never admit it, but I think he does) and covers up his insecurity by picking on characters, like Peanut and King, I know being dumped by Sasha hurt him, especially considering he was finally putting some real effort into the relationship. He, like Max, covers his insecurity and pain with bravado. In a way i can relate to Bino, my brother was a super achiever and extremely popular, everybody knew me as his brother, and I could never measure up to him, and in a way Bino probably feels like this too. So yeah i do want to hug Bino.
