No, ya loser, at one of the hotels or conference centers. Granted, special guest housing would be available for up to one. = P

I'd actually go to a Housepets convention, but Arkansas is kind of far for someone with no car, no steady source of income, and no time because of college.

Re: Rocket City Furmeet?
This is why I am glad I have a few friends who are also fans of the comic. If this becomes real, I might be able to get some of my friends to go with me and pull our resources together. That is unless college is extremely busy.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:I'd actually go to a Housepets convention, but Arkansas is kind of far for someone with no car, no steady source of income, and no time because of college.

Re: Rocket City Furmeet?
Unfortunately, I would have to spend too much in gas and hotel if I wanted to go, seeing how I don't have a steady source of income just like Brent. *Is sad*

you make your own money that you're using to get there. If I had my own money and my own car, I'd be more willing to go cause I wouldn't need my parents' permission to go.

Re: Rocket City Furmeet?
best of luck on those ticket refunds, Valerio.
Re: Rocket City Furmeet?
...so, I guess I'll ask for that refund, unless, of course, we are still trying to arrange our own meeting or something.
EDIT - I have checked with my company. The money loss would be affordable and I still could use my ticket within November 13 (last day of validity), so, if there'll be a chance to organize another con and/or meeting, before that date, I'll keep the ticket on hold. Cancelling would be definitely more costly and it's money I couldn't recover. Let's hope...

That's would be pretty awesome. House-pets con, or HP con or whatev. xDvalerio wrote:So, actually something like our own minicon?
Kewl!
I wouldn't mind saving up for tickets for a meet up, but it's highly unlikely that I might. If only I didn't live on the other side of the freakin' world it'll be much more easier.

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
I'd love to hang out with some of y'all and if you want me to attend, it'll need to be here. However, "here" is a small town (of about 30,000 people) in rural Arkansas with few (if any) big-city-style attractions.

How fare are you from Little Rock airport?Dissension wrote:I'd love to hang out with some of y'all and if you want me to attend, it'll need to be here. However, "here" is a small town (of about 30,000 people) in rural Arkansas with few (if any) big-city-style attractions.
Well, not that I was out for attractions anyway. And I *am* used spending summertimes at my grandparents' old house, in Revere -which counts, at its best, 2,500 inhabitants!
Whaddaya think guys? Worst worst case, I get a partial refund and try to integrate with my Christams bonus for a new ticket later this year.

Alternatively, what's the nearest "big" city (for a loose definition of "big")?

Little Rock.
To answer valerio's question, it's a bit more than an hour's drive, on the Interstate. = P

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
I haven't taken a taxi that distance. We don't really have a lot of public transportation. My rides have mostly been local.

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
Taxis and public transportation in general sort of don't really exist much here in the south. We kind of have to rely on our own personal cars for getting anywhere.
Why not ask Dissension if he wouldn't mind meeting you at the airport? I promise you that giving him gas money would be cheaper than finding a (probably non-existent) taxi. Plus, more time with friends and such.
~
It goes without saying that I won't make it. 900 miles away is a little too much for me.

So is the saying when life gives you lemons applicable in this situation? Y'all should totally do a podcast or something really neat online for us loyal fans who are broke as a joke and it ain't funny. As I am sure you are all aware of, the internet can be a very useful and powerful tool. I really do hope that everyone who plans to hang out with Rick and Dissension has a blast though, assuming that Dissension and Rick still have something planned (IDK?).Sleet wrote:I would totally go to a Housepets! convention. Guys, this isn't really a thing. I'm pretty sure Rick was joking. Sorry to disappoint, but if you come here, you'll end up sitting around, staring at the nuclear plant, with nothing to show for it.

Guess I'll have to wait for another convention, then.

How about the "Midwest FurFest" that they have in Chicago every year?

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
Part of the whole RCFM thing was that it is very local and I wouldn't have to do any travelling of my own. I don't own a car anymore (well, I haven't for the better part of 6 years), and I almost certainly cannot afford a hotel room almost any place I go even if I managed to borrow one. If I had my own car I'd probably be going to Furry Weekend Atlanta, which is in one month.

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
...and one month is not enough for me to collect enough pocket money. I had counted on June to reach up a sufficient amount of cash. Not to mention the human resources won't give me the needed leave with such a short notice
*sigh* okay, I'll ask for the refund and start collecting for the next year.
Worth a try anyway.

oh, and mods: for what concerns me, this thread is as good as closed. I'll open one for RCFM 2014, in case.
It was good to plan with ya, guys, Hope to see you next year *salutes*

Re: (RCFM canceled) Meeting 2013?
wHY dead, Val? There is a small comic convention in my town in April... It is like a mini dragon con, and my town has many hotels and such. If we were planning something, I could even drag up and shove Rick into a poke ball to bring down here. He is maybe 7 hours away, so if I hoof it, I could go up and bring him back in a day.
Heck, if there was enough interest and money, we could have a small HP! Con down here in sunny Florida!
