They're the gods of light and truth in Greek and Norse mythology, respectively.

Or Mayet, the Egyptian goddess of truth.

Edit: Maybe it's because all of my knowledge of tarot cards comes from Persona 4, but Pinkie seems more like The Fool arcana to me.

Well in both 3 and 4 Fool refers to the part as the whole or arguably the main character. Either way I gave my reasoning before to why each one got their tarotrs. Death mostly referrs to change. Which reflects a lot of what Pinkie has done. When the Rainboom happened her entire outlook changed, then she through a party that changed the her family's mood for the better. She was one of the 5 that changed Twilight into being less antisocial. She got Gilda out of Rainbowdash's life. She changed Twilight's views on rationalism.

Basicly Pinkie Pie kills one ideal and replaces it with another.
