Same here. My room went mostly unchanged for several years cuz I don't spend much time in there. I rearranged it recently but there's still a few items that are still untouched.

Took in a bluegrass concert; not my favorite music but they were pretty good. Coffee time now.

Today I didn't do so hot on a calc quiz...

Finishing up my business math exam which is a take home test. I think I might actually do pretty good on at. Though as long as I can pass even if it is with a 70 I'll be fine.

Playing Overwatch in a bit then...I dunno, may just work on my novel some more or just rearrange my movies (Week 2 of Spring Cleaning)

Well, I got my first rejection for my novel. Not surprisingly since the synopsis I wrote was garbage. But its been redone and is much better now so I'm ready for the next batch of queries. Unfortunately this little (huge) mistake cost be two potential agents that I really wanted.

Mentally cheering because I JUST finished my take home math exam and we get the next class off so we can still finish it.

Scratching my head in confusion ever since this morning when I found out I got an A on an accounting exam I coulda sworn I would fail. I'm not bragging, either. I bombed the exercise portion of the test. I forgot how many days are in certain months. I couldn't remember the names of accounts! I skipped way more than 4 points' worth of questions, so I'm very curious about what really happened.

Make sure you don't ask the teacher so that your grade stands then.

Finished my story for my summer residency so we'll see what happens. Hopefully if it is well received I can edit it and send it out for actual publication this fall. That's the goal at least.

Today I solved the mystery of the accounting exam. Turns out I got a lot of partial credit and everyone got 5 extra points because most of the class failed a certain exercise. Either way, I got the best score in the class Ok now I'm bragging

Wish I could ever get the best grade out of all the class... <_<

Dealing with some unexpected bad news. My mother's friend with the brain cancer has two strokes and is in the hospital. My aunt's breast cancer spread to her lymph nodes so she needs chemotherapy and radiation.

Sorry for your troubles, Amazee. Hope everything comes out right....

Today I took two of our cats to the vet. I ran into someone's parents that I went to grade school with. Only to learnt hat said student had abandoned her family and is living with someone who is taking advantage of her because she has really bad learning disabilities.

Could the world BE anymore depressing?

Sorry to hear that, Amazee. My aunt had chemotherapy last year. I met her last weekend and she's recovering well. I hope your's makes a full recovery

At the zoo. Let me just say that every time I come here I can’t stop thinking about how much better it would be if the animals talked. I keep wanting to quote the comic and have to stop myself.

Why do you feel like you have to stop yourself? I don't think anybody would mind you quoting the comic and in context for you it is pretty funny.

Four years of undergrad. Two years of graduate school. Even one random semester where I took one writing class to get into graduate school. None of these times have I had as much trouble as I am right now dealing with this new school and it’s incompetence with my accounts. Can’t access my email or actually read the stories for the residency in a few weeks. I’ve called the IT help and the lady said she’s work on it. Still nothing about my email. Still get to the stories. To say the least I’m not in a good mood.

Well, the email thing and google account issues have been settled and fixed. So that's a relief. Now I can do my homework....yay?

I didn't think it was possible, but today I got a group presentation completed. I was worrying the others wouldn't pick up the slack. They did, but did they really have to wait until the night before the due date to get it done??

Had that happen a few times to me when I was in school and it did start to annoy me. >.>

Clean the office, hit the gym, renew old friendship with an old high school classmate.

Last day of rehearsals before my class's performance tomorrow.

Working on game reviews and fics along with meetings at the radio station.
Rearranging my room again.
Getting some ideas down for movies I can pick up for my mom for Mother's Day.

Celebrating that I am done with all my class for the summer! Yay!

Got an email from my new advisor/professor about what we will be doing in a few weeks. Here is part of it.

1) Readers will attempt to determine, as best they can, what the story is trying to do (what it is attempting to establish and convey thematically). This will require, at times, the ability to surmise from partial success. What the story seems to be trying to do is not always what it succeeds in doing. The reader must be able to make a reasonable estimation of what the story is trying to do, and he or she must be able to (to the greatest degree possible) substantiate that estimation from the text. Once what-the-story-is-trying-to-do is established, deciding what is particularly effective, and what is not particularly effective, becomes less difficult.


2) Readers will attempt to determine how the story does what it does (if it does it)—how the text of the work establishes and conveys the story therein. Readers must be able, therefore, to explicate (make explicit what is implicit, in a reasonable manner: explain what is). They must consider the literal (explicit) and the figurative (implicit) aspects of the work, as well as devices such as character development, plot, point of view, setting, etc.


3) Readers will attempt to determine why the story doesn’t do what it is attempting to do (if it doesn’t)—what specifically damages, contradicts, or prevents the story from being established and conveyed.

The thing is it’s nothing new but seeing like this is very overwhelming and a reminder of why I didn’t want to go back to school in the first place. Now I need to get started reading all these stories and trying to determine if even of this garbage is even applicable.
