Ah the Wastes. Where nothing, not even war changes. Mini nukes, and laser guns, mini-guns, and laser nukes...
After playing that game, you just know that when Nuclear Armageddon comes, will all be ready.

Metric is easy.

It bugs me when there's that person who's really into the whole metric thing though. So you're like "Hey how tall are you?" and so they're like "145 centimeters" and you're like "how tall are you in America?" and they're like "lol figure it out" and so i'm like "I barely understand how much a regular American unit is" and so they're like "trololololololol" and so I have to take the calculator i'm not carrying around with me and use the conversion formula I don't know to figure out how tall they are, as opposed to using american units, and all they end up doing is proving to me that metric makes everything complicated and we should never use it and anyone who uses the metric system is a jerk, which is the opposite of what they were trying to do.

I'm not saying that those people are annoying or stupid, but you should certainly infer that.

grumble grumble i'm an amurican.

Metric length works better because kilometers, meters and centimeters are all divisible by tens.
I think 1000 meters in a kilometer and 100 centimeters in a meter works better than 5280 feet in a mile and 12 inches in a foot.
It actually avoids confusion.

Oh my god; Sleet, copper, Housefox, you guys need to get out of the forum games!

i mean you know there is something wrong when the difference between your post count and the number of results you get when you click "search user's posts" is more than 5000

Sleet's post count right now: 9,283
"Search user's posts" results: 14,346
Indeed, that's 5,063 posts. But it gets better.
Housefox post count: 5,099
Search user's posts: 10,181
Here we have 5,082 posts. More than Sleet both in number and as a proportion of total posts.
But copper, he take the cake.
Post count: 3,698
Actual posts: 10,585
6,887 posts in the forum games alone. Nearly two-thirds of copper's posts are in the forum games. :V

Also I'm joking about you guys getting out of the forum games forum I mean you don't exactly have to, I just thought it was hilarious that you guys have broken 5000 freaking posts in the forum games alone. In one forum, you all have more posts than I have ever done.

At least Sleet has an excuse for being a Not The Comic mod!

I actually did before I made the post! I was proving a point to someone off the forums and I don't even remember what the point was, but yeah, Brent's not actually that bad, only 1,359 posts in the forum games. Even you have more, with 2539!

Does that have anything to do with the old chat threads? I don't remember using forum games much otherwise.

It probably has to do with that, considering none of you play the actual games as much as I do. the difference is there because I came into the chat threads shortly before it was moved back into the main not the comic forum.

and the difference between the two numbers for me isn't that big because the forum games count towards the post count when you're a mod. (no idea why)

we should probably mention that to rick sometime so he can fix that. i certainly have never noticed forum games posts adding to my post count!

edit: posted in a games topic to check. mod posts in forum games = yes post count increase. what on earth, no wonder sleet has almost 10,000 posts

most of those were before he was a mod, so she got most of them the way everyone else does.
I on the other hand have cheated my way to second place. not that it really matters.

no, it doesn't really matter, indeed. that said, i still figured i should mention it, so i chucked it up for rick to peruse whenever he gets on. for all we know, it could be intentional, though i couldn't say why.

He knows; I've mentioned it to him.

But yeah, Brent has actually got 3654 Games posts to my 1012 if you use the search function instead of the user profiles. (Of course, that doesn't include games that have been moved into the Dead Thread Bed, like all the old Games-era Chat Threads, so it's difficult to know for sure).

What a true mystery this is!

Like, for example, why then is there a difference between post count and actual posts for, say, Buck, who was a mod before the Forum Games even existed!

Since it's capitalized, I would venture you are referring to Life Cereal.
Or perhaps to Milton Bradley's The Game Of Life board game

It's actually a very vague reference to Animaniacs. :B They did a Lion King spoof in an episode, parodying the Circle of Life opening sequence.

all great shows. I have a Freakazoid T-shirt, and my brother's planning to cosplay as Arms Akimbo at an anime convention.

and it was "Megas XLR"

why would someone in america use metric in day-to-day conversation unless they're involved in the sciences or medicine

that sounds so pretentious

It would be ok if they just used it in science or medicine (which as we know is not a science anymore) but I wish they wouldn't take it into their casual conversations.

So i got my Maxwell shirt, finally. It fits! :D Size small apparantly ain't so small on me, anyway. *uses the shirt to feel special around the house now*

Also, what is it with dentists? I get a filling today for a tooth, but i'm billed for 3 fillings? It's a good thing i'm covered, but the next tooth filling has 5? i'm beginning to suspect my dentist is evil and just wants to abuse my company balance, but since i'm no expert and he tells me he's just filling the rest of my teeth for recovery, i got skeptical about that. Meh. Rant of the day.

Show us a picture!

Maybe he botched it twice before he got it right, then billed you for all three? Which would be pretty shady, of course.

Doesn't seem like the type to botch fillings, honestly. he's in my opinion a great dentist, but i find between my good care and his bills, something doesn't add up these days. especially when he tells me which teeth are bad and doesn't tell me he's billing me for each filling :|

And yes, i shall get a awesome shot of my Maxwelliness someday.
