NHWestoN wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 12:23 pmYeeeee - Hah! We're right proud of you. What's yer degree in? What's next?
The AAS degree is a gen ed certification at my college (UW Oshkosh). The graduation requirements are broad, so I've been taking various preparatory and prereq classes for when I transfer to Eau Claire, where I'll be pursuing a Bachelor's with a major in Actuarial Science. A more short-term goal of mine is to get a summer job -- but that might be tricky with the pandemic.

Sorrow: Permabanned from Rangerboard due to unwittingly breaking their rules. May as well leave since the account they insist on me having is named something I'd rather forget, as with the site in general.

Note that I hold no ill will towards the site, it's just that I'll have to move on from them.

Well that seems harsh. Don't they have some sort of appeal process or do they just "amputate" and "tough taboggans" to you?

They don't like Alt Accounts or replacement accounts. I however hold no ill will towards them. In fact, I am trying to get that account banned so I won't have to go there again.

Can't you get them to change the name of the account they insist you have?

It's too late for that. I and the mods of that board made up our minds. Thank you for your concern but I think I can move on. (Didn't even use that account even rarely anyways.)

It would be hard for me to move on from something without it driving me insane. That is what happened a few years ago with a forum called Lemmy's Land and it took me a long time to move on. It's also how I came back here but arguing that the reason I got banned wasn't as bad as some of the others. :)

Joy: I work in a pharmacy and we rocked up to work this morning to find that someone had left a nicely-painted rock saying "THANK YOU" on our doorstep. It's nice to be appreciated. ^^

Sorrow: The two Spotted Quolls at my local wildlife sanctuary (like a zoo but only has native wildlife and does a lot of rehabilitation work) passed away due to complications from old age. Their names were Romulus and Remus.

Rest easy, cousins.

Sorrow: Yesterday was wasted because my mother wanted to have her car looked at and Toyota didn't do anything since she put her key in the wrong lockbox so they didn't even touch it and told her when I took her up there to get it to come back tomorrow. So that is gonna be ANOTHER day that is wasted.

Also, my car is still a lemon.

It's a "TTKB" feeling. A "Time To Kick Butt" moment.

Sophie and I encountered a turtle on our morning walk, a wood turtle to be exact. When I was a kid, I regularly encountered turtles sauntering around on my forest strolls. Used to be all kinds - Wood, Painted, Blandings, Spotted and so on. Then, around the 80s, when I'd come back for visits, I never found any - they pretty much disappeared. Guess she'd just gotten out of hibernation.... unlike me.

I'm still trying to shake off the feeling that its not winter anymore which is hard since I couldn't really transition with everything that is going on.

I stopped receiving notifications for my Gmail account probably around a year ago, even though all notifications were turned on. This was a problem, since this was my main email that I no longer received notifications for. I tried just about everything under the sun to fix it, but nothing worked. I finally got them working again today :D

Yeah, walking Soph this morning, I came to the realization it's probably time to put the sweatshirts away under the colder weather returns in July. ;)

By this point I would usually start taking my summer clothes out but because everything is changing at breakneck speed I just haven't had the will to do it.
