Yeah, pretty much ... although the Medicare folks gave us a list of private investigative services who might drop by for a chat and how to confirm they're legitimate. The adventure continues?

Trying to figure out what to have for dinner tonight since my father is still in Vermont and he's the one that does the grocery shopping on Saturday and when he gets back today he probably won't do a big shop until next Saturday.

Does Garfield have a comic album devoted entirely to I hate Monday" strips? Well, anyways, that all's over and done.

Neither is Marion. I suspect neither is Rick. Though he likes Weird Al...

Anyway, it's peak season at work, so I work 6 days a week until the end of the year, and start time is starting to get earlier, which adds up to lots more money on payday, but a very tired and dozy GDA after work.

I ended up accidentally stumbling across a Reddit page that is all about how Trump is going to DESTROY the US which also has members destroying any hope we have of being a democracy again. I find myself reading through it so that I know my uneasiness and feelings of dread are justified. :geek:

Irrrronic there, Amazz. Our church hosted a big public education forum last night, "Stand against Hate". A panel of local, state, judicial, and police authorities presented a wide discussion of the challenge of identifying, investigating, and prosecuting (slowly but successfully) hate speech and hate vandalism crimes in the seacoast region. Sadly, as they told a packed audiance, they expect it to worsen. Overall, they were very successful in their presentations and in getting the citizens up to speed.

So, as I'm kinda the church quartermaster, I get to go in today and clean up. That's what I'm doing today. :) ;) 8-)

Work had a 2:30 AM start time and I clocked out at 9:30. That's a full 7 hours of doing nothing but lift the heavy things. So sore. Much tired.

It's finally my day off, so I slept until I couldn't anymore, and now I'm trying to power through 3 or 4 chapters in my current story that have some uncomfortable content. Then I can finally start wrapping it up and move on to my next story idea.

Getting ready to go out to dinner for my father's birthday in a few hours. I enjoy the ride up there but the food (it's a chicken restaurant) does leave a lot to be desired. My father likes it but he likes bland food.

Well, back to getting up at 1 AM.
At least I've finished with the part of my story that's the most uncomfortable to write. It won't be as uncomfortable to read unless you're super observant and realize what's actually going on. That character is a jerk.

Spent the day doing chores at the Church's day care center. They're a mission of the church but they're struggling to stay afloat and fund stipends to hep working familes board their kids while paying minders a salary above chicken feed. The neeed for daycare centers in this region is shrieking but, because of insurance and overhead costs, they're falling like Messerschmitts over London. It's tough be a working class stiff on the seacoast.

I noticed this morning that I've worn part of my spacebar and a few of my letter keys smooth. I've only had this laptop about 8 months and it was practically new when I bought it.
Am I typing too much?

So transferred to son Paul's home in LA, walked the neighborhood, ate Korean chow (paul's adopted and his missus, Helen, is Korean-American, and watched the first episode of the second season of The Squid Game. SQ was actually quite well done, good drama and tension with a couple of twists at the end. Missed all the deer we got to watch walking around the Idlewild cabins in id-day, though.

I've been up for 21 hours and written 3 chapters. The planning where to next part of my brain is still raring to go but the actions and dialogue part is worn out and ready for a nap. New Year's in 15 minutes, then sleep.

Uh... This story gonna be a little bit LONGER. I gave the characters 2 years at the beginning of the story. It's now chapter 19 and 9 months in. I got SO MUCH story left to tell.

Spent most of the day at the San Diego Zoo, including almost an hour just enjoying the company of their two Okapis. Entrancing creatures. My second favorite animals after the okapis? ... All the kids! It's so much fun to be around children and hear their delight at seeing the animals.
