You should give jazz a try.Medli wrote:I feel ashamed whenever I sing something, and add things because I feel like it sounds better. Like whistling the melody where no whistling belongs. And then everybody looks at me totally surprised and I feel like just shrinking away under their looks :/

WHY!? How can this be possible?! Whenever I play Pokemon in the open at college, people walk by and are like "Oh man, pokemon is awesome!"Alex wrote: I'm ashamed because I still play Pokemon.

What do you mean by ill-mannered?
Re: Trivial things of which you're ashamed
Like someone who hits the door repeatedly while yelling "just open the door!"
In his defense, he might have given a short explanation. But he spoke too fast, not to mention his loud voice and knocking didn't make me feel any safer to open the door or talk to him either.
Basically I chickened out and ignored him, instead of trying to talk... I had to call my uncle. However, it was a problem I can't handle anyway, so I didn't do anything wrong. But I could have done a lot better if I could actually speak to people like that, instead of running away... >_>

Well I won't blame you on that one, I would not place my trust on a violent person like that. Who knows what he could have been. It was actually good of you to ask for assistance, I would have.
I am ashamed that I prefer to not follow any trends. It makes me a very single-topic person.

The funniest thing is that the person was actually trying to warn me of a potential danger... Talk about being misunderstood.
And yeah, I am a bit ashamed of not knowing the trends too.

I'm ashamed of being dissatisfied with my daily life.

Re: Trivial things of which you're ashamed
@ Auqablast- I wouldn't be ashamed about your stranger situation. Heck, there are some real creepers out there. Don't be ashamed of trying to protect yourself.
@ Flint & Auqablast- Who cares about trends? If you like, you like it, and I'm gonna pull the cheesy line of following your heart and doing what makes you happy. Popular or not, you are your own person and you do what interests you. :p In the end, it all comes down to how satisfied with how you lived your life, not how others wanted you to live it.
@Dub- You too, if you're not happy with the way your daily life is, you've got the power to change that.
Don't waste a minute being unhappy. If one door closes, find a window. Or break down another door, ehe.
I'm ashamed of being tone-deaf? Hmm....

For a thread with "trivial" in the title, there seems to be a bit too much moping here.

Im ashamed of my suckish programming skills and understanding in computer science.
Im ashamed of my suckish grades.
Im ashamed of my inability to draw, write, play an instrument or otherwise do something artistic.

All of them.
Anyway, shame immediately prompts that kind of thing. I mean, shame isn't exactly a light emotion. It's not like irritation or disappointment.
I was going to make a joke but then I did.

I'm ashamed I'm still too young to get a job so I always have to come to my parents for money. Four and a half more months.... gah... >__<
If we're old enough to drive a two ton vehical (and have the possibilty of killing someone at that) with at least a parent in the car, aren't we at least old enough to get a job within five miles from our house??

Re: Trivial things of which you're ashamed
I’m ashamed because...
I blew a lot of money on stupid garbage
I still don’t have my state driver’s license
I’m bored by schoolwork to the point of wanting to blow my head off
I suck eggs at algebra
I can’t play any instruments
I’m exceedingly weird....

Re: Trivial things of which you're ashamed
If you need help with algebra, I can help you if you want.
I'd say the same about learning an instrument, but that's pretty much impossible over the internet.
Minimum ages in the USA are kind of inconsistent.

If I'm not mistaken, with parental permission, you can get married as early as 13, which leads to the possibility of being a mother (one of the world's hardest jobs) at 14, completely within the confines of the law. But you're apparently too young to clean tables at that age.Teh Brawler wrote:Ah, if only you lived near my hometown. @ Teh Brawler- Oh yeah, you can find a job here too. If your whole family's been here for ever and ever. I live in one of those sterotypical small southern towns. >___<
@D-Singer- Well gee, we have a lot in common. =) But if you need help in Algebra, PM me or post in the homework thread and I'll gladly help you as well. Algebra is one of my stronger subjects.
@Sleet- I totally agree with you. But wait, by law, when a teenage girl becomes pregnant, she automatically becomes emancipated as an adult as well. So I think they can get a job that young.
......
I'm ashamed of procrastinating as much as I do some days.
