Congrats

Joy: My mother's 60th birthday was on the 17th as well.

Sorrow: She had to go to the hospital to check her heart, unfortunately. on the bright side, I got to stay home and celebrate her birthday with her. She came back fine, but she needs to start getting more active now. A lifestyle change as the doctors said.

Glad to hear that she's fine, Cobra, and that she's resolved to get more active. I have a number of health problems (along with basic geezer glumps), and my routines have kept my mobility, weight, and other vulnerabilities stable.

As my mother-in-law liked to say "Old age ... it's not for sissies." And, again, Happy Birthday to her.

Joy: Our favorite outdoor ice cream opened up today.

Sorrow: Our favorite Greek Restaurant closed permanently on Saturday after many, many years of first rate spanikopita. sigh.

Got a beach walk in today ... been too long. Brings back Sophie memories so I do it rarely but the weather's improving and i need to get out more.

Joy: I can finally park on our new driveway which means no longer having to park behind my mother and having to move my car when she goes out or moving her car when I have to go out!

Sorrow: Had to say goodbye to Holly today. She had a wound that wouldn't heal that turned out to be cancerous and that spread through her body. I tried all I could to help her but sadly the only thing left to do was end her suffering. She was just shy of 2.5.
