I actually did know that because I just saw your post in the Joys and Sorrows thread. 
TUBM didn't know that the first time a toilet was shown on TV was not until 1957 and they didn't show the bowl - only the tank/cistern because the rest was deemed to offensive, or that the first time a toilet was flushed on TV was not until 1971 although this toilet was not shown, only heard.

Did you know that in Victorian times it was considered offensive to even say the word "legs" let alone to show any. Instead you had to call them "Unmentionables".
