Took Sophie down one of the old cow paths through the local forest. We met a young doe who stopped and stood her ground, pretty creature. Being mostly sheltie, Sophie had to say "Hi" but had sense enough to keep a respectful distance. After a minute, she turned out of the path, jumped a stonewall (what a performance), and she was gone. Nice start to the day.

Got correspondence to catch up on, some chores, and maybe get back into Beastars tonight.

Helping the missus bale assorted yummies and boxing them for sale at an outside Church fair. I'll run them over later this evening.

Truth be told, I'm not a big fan of fund raisers, especially now. We won't be helping much or attending; all the vulnerabilities, you know.

Catch up on my reading and correspondence later. It's Friday.

Today I was helping my mother prepare for her colonoscopy which she has tomorrow. I am helping her because I feel her pain of having to deal with the prep. I had one 5 years ago which removed a few polyps.

Prayers and best wishes for her. I had more than my share but, now that I'm a more senior senior citizen, the medical concensus is there's not much point in having another unless some symptom arises.

One year, I had some complications with the procedure and they wanted me to eat something after they brought me around. When I told them I was vegetarian, you'd think I'd said "Martian". They didn't know what to do (This was waaaay down south in Dixie at the time). Finally, this one older nurse piped up "Why is this a problem?" and said she'd get me some tomato soup.

Best tomato soup I ever had. Best wishes, Amazz.

I honestly wouldn't understand why that would be such a problem either. Besides where are they going to get meat from after somebody wakes up from that medical procedure? Is there a hamburger restaurant next door to the office? Anyway I thought that it was just crackers that you get after you wake up. At least that is what I got.

Well, as my old First Sargeant used to say, "Never forget that twenty-five percent of any given group of doctors graduated in the bottom quarter of their class." Maybe I wasn't the only one in the operating room on drugs. :?

Beastars! Thats a great comic, love the loose art style, some pretty dark themes but certainly different, can be light and funny at times. I must get to the end, nearly read them all. Currently reading tales of hayven celestia.

The missus and I voted today.

Being a vet, people sometimes say "thank you for your service" to me. And I always reply, "You REALLY wanna thank me for my service ... GO VOTE!!"

My mom and dad were active members of opposite political parties. They had this rather charming tradition (which I witnessed a couple of times) of going to the voting booth, hugging and smooching before going in, and saying "Okay, I'm going to go cancelled your vote!".

Anyhow, chums, if you haven't yet, go vote. 8-)

If my father comes home right away and doesn't go to the gym after work, me and my mother are gonna take his car and go look at new cars for her.

I'm also waiting to see what's going on with my car.

Debating on what to do with my car which they just told me that my undercarriage is totally wrecked. I could either trade the car in and get a new one or get the undercarriage repaired.

Finishing up the second Beastars book, liked it enough to order the Third. Sophie gets walked with the Scotties this afternoon so she's gonna love that - the three of them really are cute all together.

It was National Playing Card Collectors Day today, so, naturally, I bought a deck of cards. the official deck, of course. The collector in my is happy, but my wallet, ehh.... that's another story.

On the other hand, the Cheatin' Astros lost, and all is right in the world.

At least the Sox have won a World Series before; recently, even! All my Rangers have is heartbreak and disappointment... Plus I had to watch my Stars lose to Tampa in the SCF, but like half their roster was either out with injuries or playing injured, so I'm not too terribly upset about that.

Maybe next time when the Stars are all up to it because they are 100% recovered they will be able to make that up somehow.

I have some classwork to mop up today. It looks easy enough; if I manage my time well, I can knock it out in an hour or two. Then, I can relax for the rest of the day. I do need to get some exercise, though. I'm thinking of taking my doggo out for a walk.
With the right community, getting into a webcomic at the beginning of a brand new arc can feel just as enjoyable and rewarding as being there from the beginning.

Walk that doggie, Ash! After two hours of cleaning the garage, forty minutes with Sophie is just a joy. Yesterday, we encountered an outdoor birthday party that a neighbor was giving for her nine-year old. They wanted to take a picture of Sophie with a party hat on (which, secretly, I did, too). She was just too intimidated by it all; Sophie's a senior dog so she's a little diffident with kids. We did have a nice little visit, though. Enjoy and be well.

Did a few errands with my mother to get ready for the gender-reveal party that we are going to tomorrow for my cousin who is pregnant. Since her mother already has two grandsons (said cousin's nephews), I was guessing this cousin was gonna have a girl.

The reason I came home for the weekend was so I could fulfill my civic duty, aka vote, so I got that done this morning. My first official Overwatch game as a member of my university's new esports program was tonight, which I believe was also the first official game from any of the program's teams. Best of 5 match, we swept in 3 8-)

Naturally I was wrong and it wasn't a girl but she is having a boy. Which is a good thing because the baby's father wanted it to be a boy and not a girl and when my mother brought up the possibility he made a disgusted face.

Watching the snow, reading the forum fanfics, catching up on phonecalls and the "medical diary", good day for the little bitsy-snitsy things of existence. 8-)
