Frankly I'm surprised that King lets his kids watch JP, I thought his brood's TV would be set on the "All Dogs Go To Heaven" channel, Proudly showing ADGTH 24/7.
Re: 2020/05/04 - Prehistoric Terror
Maybe King thought the movie was "educational"

Are you sure it wasn't Bailey?

I feel like kids tend to be shown Jurassic Park younger than they should, regardless.

I'm pretty sure if we look around we will find a parent or two that took their baby to the movie when it first came out.

With apologies to Leroy van **** (won't let me spell his last name)-
There was a pup from Babylon
'Causing quite an awful storm
Huntin' dinos, she's nobody's fool!
Oh boy, the pups can talk,
Last we saw they could barely walk,
Olive's fierce to Peanut, oh boy, whoo..
She says,
Oh me, oh my,
It's do or die,
Got to learn that battle cry,
Got to make my mark and make the dinos fear.

You're a wonderful person! You can do this! Yes, you, person reading this!

I remember going to see Jurassic Park in theaters because The Lion King was sold out (back then, a successful film was one that stayed in first-run theaters for over a year). My parents reasoning was "it's a movie about dinosaurs from the guy who made An American Tail, how bad can it be?"

I wonder what their reactions where when they realized it was worse than they though?

It was made by the same guy as An American Tail? :OFrank wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 1:08 pmI remember going to see Jurassic Park in theaters because The Lion King was sold out (back then, a successful film was one that stayed in first-run theaters for over a year). But yeah parents really should look at ratings.

Not sure if they were made by the same company but they were produced by the same company which is what I think Frank might be trying to say. The production company is called Amblin Entertainment. They are the company whose logo is the scene of E.T. sitting on Elliott's bike flying in front of the moon from the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Steven Spielberg is one of its founders.
Other movies they produced include Gremlins, The Goonies, Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Land Before Time, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, Schindler's List, Casper, Balto, Twister, Small Soldiers, Saving Private Ryan, Ready Player One and Cats. All of which has Spielberg involved in them. Futures movies include Bios, a movie about how the last man on Earth builds and android and goes across the country with it and his dog, as well as a remake of West Side Story and the third movie in the Jurassic World series.

I really would like to meet him though especially as the self-serving muffins station at Stop 'n' Shop is closed because of the virus.
