Species Change Week: May 3 - 9, 2020

Post by Obbl »

Hey everyone!
Last year we kinda missed Species Change Week, and everyone was interested in trying it out. So... it's a bit short notice, but this Sunday (first Sunday in May) kicks off SCW 2020. ^^
Anyone who wants to participate, feel free to change up your species starting Sunday. A whole week to try out being something new! If you get any pics done, share em here :D

I honestly don't understand why the heck I keep forgetting about the fact that this an event and many people want to take part in it! In any case, I already changed my species a few days early. I'm a pop diva. xD

A good time to get my writing juices flowing. All right, I'll make a special involving this event.

Changed Rocky into a squirrel.

And no, not a reference to the classic Rocky the Squirrel of Rocky and Bullwinkle fame. I just wanted a squirrel.

I think I'll be a Fisher (yes, that's the name of the animal) this year. Here's a picture of what it looks like.

This week I'll be Champion Cynthia, of the Sinnoh Pokémon League. They are the last trainer the player has to face to finish their journey in the Pokémon Dimond, Pearl, and Platinum games.

This week I'm my Elite Dangerous CMDR. This pic was taken in my Vulture, which I recently fixed up for bounty hunting.

I'm now a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Donatello to be exact.

Oh you got the version of him from the 2003 series! That series was definitely my favorite. I liked the 1987 series and the 2012 series for different reasons also. The 1987 series (which I binge-watched before the 2003 and 2012 series) because of the slapstick. The 2012 series because it was a little more serious. I found that the 1988 series and the 2012 series each had their own strengths and weakness. I just liked that the turtles had big heroic builds on them.

My favorite scene from the 1987 series involving Donatello here. :D

...I'm not sure I understand what this is. I went from a wolf pic avatar to a fennec fox though, so...That counts?

In the furry community it's a time to change up your usual species and try something new. For those who like to envision themselves as their fursona, this might include a shift in their perspective of themselves, and for others it may be as simple as changing an avatar. So whatever you want is fine ^^

Very cool to see the avatar changes and photos and musician creature art.
...especially that last :P

My pic here is more of a tribute to a beast I met once... if there is an animal I sometimes see myself as it's not really related to this one in anything but name. Might change my picture on the discord though :)

Someone care to explain what exactly this was? I was gone for like, 2 weeks and completely missed it, and I'm so confused.

Hlaoroo's and D-Rock's pics kinda help sum things up nicely. Essentially it's one week where you get to change species just for fun or for introspection or whatever you want. :D First Sunday in May every year. It's always been pretty popular in the furry community, and we used to have a thread for showing off your new species on the forums every year. Last year, everyone forgot to do it here, so a few people tried to get something going the next month, and we promised we'd actually do it on time this year

aight, so it's a furry thing, got it. Apparently one that's not popular among my furry friends. At least, not anywhere I can see it.
