Finished writing some lyrics and visited the local snow leopards at ~-20 degrees. I may enjoy the cold but right now I'm happy to be back home and warm! My only other plan for the day is to go get myself some hot chocolate later.
I'll start on the music for the song tomorrow.

Today I took my van to the Transit Centre to get the seatbelts looked at. They told me it would cost £600 to replace them (including parts cost and VAT).

... so I ordered some used but working seatbelts off eBay and I'm gonna fit them myself. If I can't, then I'll take it to the Transit Centre, and I'll probably have saved at least £130.

I don't know, setting up a 3D printer can be quite painful.

The hotend was clogged, so I had to blow torch it and ram some 240v wire through it to clear the blockage. Then I realised the thermistor had fallen off and I didn't know where it was. So I decided to cannibalise my other printer's hotend (the other printer is running the original firmware and is not connected to my PC). But the other printer already had filament in the print head. So I tried to unload the filament, but the hotend wouldn't heat up, so I tried a demo print to let it run out of the short amount of filament it had in it. Only I realised too late that this wouldn't clear the hotend. I tried to pull the filament out and it broke off, leaving me with another clogged hotend.

... then I found the thermistor on the floor underneath the first printer, and got the original hotend installed. So I started printing the mounting panel. Only my filament was old, and had absorbed moisture, and the bed wasn't calibrated properly... resulting in a really messy print that I ended up cancelling one hour in. So I cleared that off, made some more acetone-ABS cement, spread it on the print bed, and started a new print. This one went well, and is the one I took a picture of.

TL;DR: printing that one object was a bunch of work

I went to the doctor earlier today to get prescription refills, and swung by the grocery store to grab a few essentials. I'm now wrapping up my project, and if I get done soon, I may have enough time to play games later tonight. It feels like time's going by super fast for some reason I can't pin down, though, and that has me slightly miffed.

Got up early but the customer never called me back like they said they would. Their phone number just went straight to a "The number you have dialled is not available" message. Since its been raining, I've just spent most the day on the computer.

I did go to the supermarket to buy some food, and voted at the polling station.

Sophie goes to the vet for a couple of shots. The Vets scare her ever since she had to go to the doggie dermatologist who had three people hold her down and muzzle her while she received a rather prolonged injection. They were kind rough with her, and she's a very gentle soul. These folks are very understanding but the poor old girl (she's 17) just quakes like a California plate shift.

We're going to be traveling and a neighbor lady is going to care for her, but first she needs to spend a few days at the kennel. That means Sophie's got to be up to date on all her shots, poor dear. A couple dog cookies and a new squeaky toy make up for the trauma.

Trying to figure out how to feel since I learned my mother's aunt adopted a son years ago and put him in a care home has died and I'm going to his memorial. NOBODY in the family knew about him until my grandaunt invited my mother (who would have been a first cousin) and me to the memorial and I am trying to understand how I should feel.

I'm sorry for your loss, Amazee, even if the circumstances are ambiguous. Feel what you feel ("feelings" don't follow "should" too well anyways) and act respectful whatever you feel. Time will let you sort it all out. Best wishes.
